But in all seriousness, you brought up a good reminder that maybe this blog wouldn’t be entirely comedic. Maybe it’s funny at first glance that Spamton lives in a “GODDAMN GARBAGE CAN”, but...who would do that if they had other options?

If I made the Spamton blog, I still think it would be hilarious. Don’t get me wrong! But it would hide a torrent of emotional pain just underneath the surface. This is a man who’s lost everything. Not just materially, but all his friends as well.

((Hi, everyone! Mod IJT here! I know it’s been a while since this blog’s been active, and even longer since I’ve been here. But I have an idea I’d like to discuss with you.

Are there any Deltarune characters you’d like to see get the imaginary datemate treatment?

No commitments yet. I just want to see if there’s interest. I’ll list some specific characters I have in mind below, but you’re welcome to suggest others! Warning for Deltarune Chapter 2 spoilers.

Ralsei is a minor, so his blog would have to be strictly platonic. But if you just want emotional support and someone to spend time with and don’t care about the romance aspect, he’d be perfect! I may drop the imaginary concept altogether and make it “encouragement-from-ralsei” or “your-friend-ralsei”.

Susie couldn’t have a traditional imaginary datemate blog for the same reason as Ralsei, but it could be fun to explore the versions of her other characters have in their heads! Noelle’s imaginary Susie would be more or less the same as the real deal, but Berdly’s would be a Gamer Girl(TM) fawning over how great he is.

There could be an Imaginary Son Lancer blog for those of you who want to practice parenting. Then we could all be Lancer’s dads!

Hathy is pretty affectionate in canon already.

Queen could be fun to work with; you’d just have to accept that sometimes she’ll think she knows what makes you happy better than you do.

I think Rouxls Kaard would be exhausting to have in your head all the time, but the blog would be pretty funny if nothing else.

Swatch and possibly the Swatchlings have the courtesy and calming presence  to be great companions. Plus, they’ll do just about anything you want to do, even if it’s smashing melons with karate chops!

And I’m actually really tempted to try Spamton. Hear me out: it would be hilarious. Instead of having him as your imaginary boyfriend, I’m thinking you took one of his deals and ended up dating him by accident. Just...imagine dating the embodiment of suspicious junk mail. Imagine the pet names he’d call you.

Here’s what’s going on… I’ve had… A rather rotten go of it to say the least and I finally just had to recreate my internet life. This blog has too many ties to me so I have to leave it behind for my own safety. But! Here’s the thing. If someone wants to carry the mantle I am all for that. Until then I guess the blog is on an indefinite hiatus. This is too much on Junie and I cannot stay here like I used to. I love all of you. I’m so so so sorry I couldn’t be better or stronger or smarter and avoid it all but I’m not.

Please be strong. Please be safe. If you get asks regarding me I’m sorry. Ignore them.

After some talking, Mod K and I both feel like neither of us are in a place in our lives where we could devote the time and passion that this blog deserves.  I only hope that you all will be able to let your imaginations soar. Mob follows Blue’s lead and joins in the cuddle pile. “ya don’t havta explain any more than ya want ta, doll. i know the mind can be a real pain sometimes,” he sneaks in a couple ‘kisses’ to your cheek. “just relax and we’ll take care of it.”

He looks at you and the light in his eyesocket becomes brighter. “hey, uh, nice ta meetcha and all that...” Red fidgets a bit, “i’m no good at this yet, uh-”

Blue swiftly hooks Red with his arm and swings him in with you three, “JUST DO WHAT WE DO. YOU’RE DATEMATE IS WAITING~” 

“what the-” he flushes we he gets closer to you. If he had a human heart it would be beating out of his chest. “okay... uh, hey there sweetie.” 

((I am so relieved to hear that, hun. Even just knowing the “why” part of “why am I feeling this way?” can really help. (at least it does for me) Hearing that you are going to be able to get the help you need makes me very happy.  I’ll continue to try my best as well. And I’ll keep you in my prayers. -Mod J))

“how’s about we lay down next to ya and help ya have sweeter dreams this time, sweetheart?” Classic lowers his body to the ground next to you. The other Romeos follow suit. 

“hey, i have an idea,” Outer uses this opportunity to change your mindscape to a lush field looking up to a clear, starry night. You are all laying on a comfy blanket that is covering the fluffy grass. The breeze feels like the perfect temperature. “now who could have nightmares falling asleep to this?”

((It looks like this blog was ignored for quite a while again. I’m very sorry.

I’ve been having trouble contacting Mod K (who is a wonderful writer and friend) and I just didn’t really know what to do.

I’m not very confident in my ability to roleplay romance. I am very comfortable in drawing fluff, but I never know what to say. And I wish I had all the time in the world to draw a pic for every ask, but sadly that is not possible.

I will try my best to give you what I can. It may be slow (because I have my personal projects and a full-time job to do as well), but I don’t want it to go completely quiet for so long again.

I apologize if the writing/characterization changes, but I’ll try my best. ^^
