Nevra and Erika's wedding;
Just imagine: it’s Nevra and Erika’s wedding. Nevra’s life has mostly been made up of losses and a pile of shit, and Erika’s life (at least since she arrived in Eldarya) has been much the same. And after the Templars’ shooting at Karenn and Chrome’s wedding, Nevra became even more protective and paranoid than he used to be.
So now Nevra and Erika are getting married. Unlike Karenn and Chrome, Nevra and Erika have time, so Nevra wants to plan as much as possible. He wants every tiny detail to be perfect because, well, Erika deserves it and, somehow, so does he. Besides, it has to be completely safe. This is their day, and it has to be perfect.
So he spends months planning every detail. At first, it’s fun for Erika: lying beside her fiancé and dreaming about that day; earthly things like a wedding cake, and Eldaryan things like making flower crowns and offering them to each other during the ceremony. Erika wants to wear a white dress like they do on Earth (she’ll be the only one allowed to wear that color!), and Nevra would definitely wear a traditional Yaqut outfit (unlike Karenn, Nevra is much more connected to Yaqut culture). It was also fun explaining to Nevra the tradition of throwing the bouquet to the unmarried women, along with the belief that whoever catches it will be the next to get married.
The following months were more boring. Nevra spends most of his free time planning the wedding until Erika has to force him to relax. He analyzes every possible decoration and puts together the most demanding menu of all time so it can please every guest.
Erika is shy, especially after becoming this sort of divinity after the White Sacrifice (aengels are believed to be closer to gods than men, aren’t they?), so she would definitely want something more private. The same goes for Nevra, who doesn’t enjoy attention as much as he did when he was twenty-three. So they would do something more intimate, only for close friends who were handpicked.
I can picture Erika being absurdly bored while Nevra analyzes different fabrics for tablecloths in slightly different shades of white that a Djinn is showing him (honestly, she can’t even tell the difference between the shades).
Then the big day finally arrived. Nevra was completely freaking out, repeatedly rearranging every tiny detail because "that chair isn't in the right place," or adjusting some of the flower arrangements (they looked exactly the same), but in the end, he was just anxious and nervous. So Chrome—slightly concerned—had to go get Nevra's day-brother (Ezarel) to try to calm him down.
Well, I'd say Erika would choose Karuto, Jamon, or Ewelein as her day-brother/day-sister (yep, sorry, Karenn).
Nevra would ban the traditional rice toss (well, he's still a member of the Light Guard, and rice is harmful to companions).
In the end, everything went well. Things weren't perfect, and accidents happened, but it was still the best day of their lives. Neither of them managed to hold back their tears during the vows (Nevra delivered the most beautiful vows you've ever heard), and neither did their guests.
Fun facts: Erika is terrible at making flower crowns, so her offering turned out a little wonky, but Nevra loved it anyway. Chrome absolutely loved the concept of a wedding cake. Even Maora cried at this wedding. Yes, she's a better person now, and she even wished Erika and Nevra a long and happy marriage.
