“who said anything about you doing the asking?” sara let out a slight chuckle. although it was stopped before it really started. “but okay – fair enough. lets leave this to her. she’s more than capable.” if anyone was going to sort out the merlyn problem that wasn’t them then it would be nyssa. “right.” an eye roll. “so it’s only a good deal because we’ll get another shot at the bastard?” smiling slightly, to show she hadn’t actually taken offence.
“sorry.” realising maybe she had been presumptuous in her comment. “ a lot’s happened. don’t blame me for not always keeping up.” sara did a pretty good job when it came to the team. although she didn’t always get it right.
“no idea. rip wasn’t exactly forthcoming with all the details. just said that she was offline and he was struggling to get her back. sure he’ll fix it though. him and gideon are like a married couple. nothing will keep them separated for very long.” she heard them bickering. talking. the tone gideon used with rip sometimes. she liked it. “if here comes the bride starts playing – we have problems.” wrapping her arm around his shoulder. “thanks.” a smile. “bed. please. need to keep this leg levitated tonight so i can get back on it tomorrow.” testing the waters. knowing that she shouldn’t. she needed more time. it wasn’t like time was happy to wait though. she needed to be back out there.
“Because I’m not gonna be letting you walk on that leg until I believe that you’re not still hurting it more by doing that?” Mick said, though it was mostly good-natured. He nodded a little- he’d heard some things about the other woman, not much- and he figured someone who was good enough to keep up with Sara had to be a badass. “Hey, once we get the Waverider back, we’ll be able to kick plenty of ass and hang out all the time. Right now, I’ve gotta prioritise, and you’re at the top of the list.” Mick wasn’t entirely sure where that had come from, but he figured he could roll with it. She pretty much was top of the list- next to Len, at least.
“You didn’t know me back then,” he shrugged. The younger him had been a creep, a bit, and definitely weird, but half of that was the fact he was a teenager, who’d just killed his parents, who’d been scooped up by his time-travelling older self- he was sick, and he was messed up, and he was broken, but he hadn’t been a bad kid. It had taken a long time for Mick to learn to stop blaming him for everything that had happened, the path he’d set himself on.
“Should get the kid in on it,” Mick offered. Jax was good at pretty much everything he turned his hand to, especially when it came to machines. He’d not admit it, but he found it pretty impressive. “You’re not getting on that tomorrow. You rip my stitches, I really will handcuff you. Maybe to the bed, though. Radiator’s probably a little uncomfortable.” He grumbled, softly, before walking her through to what appeared to be an actual bedroom, not like his room on the ship. “Bed should be comfy. Len picked it.”
