I Think I Fell In Love
I met him at a coffee shop on a Sunday. I was sitting by myself in a corner booth, wearing my usual rock band tee and glasses, drinking a latte, and scribbling out lyrics in a ratty notebook. He came up and sat across from me. He looked incredibly attractive in his buttoned up flannel, a backpack in one hand, coffee in the other. "Would you mind some company?" He asked. He had such a wonderful smile, I couldn't say no. He quietly sat across from me, guiltlessly staring at me between sips of coffee and spouts of typing on his computer. "You know, a picture lasts longer." I said finally, smirking at him over my coffee. "Yeah, but it won't constantly change like you do." "Oh. How poetic." I replied, taken aback by his observation. "Well, it is kind of what I do." He said, turning his computer around so I could see the screen. A word document with typewriter font on it displayed a poem, titled I think I fell In love. "Can I read it?" I asked timidly. "Can I read it to you?" I nodded, blushing. I think I fell in love today, It was a girl across the way. I think I fell in love today, In at least a thousand ways. I fell in love with a million freckles And deep deep blue eyes I fell in love with a rock band tshirt And the way she looks surprised I fell in love with a scrunched up nose And how she set me on fire I fell in love with some messy hair And how you could tell she was a crier I fell in love with a crooked smile And the way she drank her coffee I fell in love with her blushing cheeks And how her laugh caught me I fell in love with a girl today. And I hope she fell in love too. I fell in love with a girl today, You should know that it's you. And the rest... Is history.
