@imiryo-blog
OOC: Unexpected vacation but I’m back back back. I’ll be getting to all those replies and messages now.
Thank you to all new followers, I’m humbled by your interest!!
*ydg voice* MIRYOOOO
✏️ @lalizmanoban liked this for a starter (thank you!!)
She was impressed, honestly. Everybody around was talking about how it was the quickest a female rookie group won an award, and while some thought it’s unfair and undeserved, Miryo was just that--impressed. She has never been someone to achieve success in anything right away, always having to work hard and give it multiple tries, so it was even more mind-blowing to her, how talented those girls must have been. And considering it was the idol entertainment they worked in, how talented and pretty, and likeable, and everything in between. If she was any more pressed and less confident, Miryo would probably be jealous. Just a little.
Lisa was even prettier up close than in the photos and videos, the older female realized, once they stood face-to-face. Fierce and confident on stage, off stage she looked more youthful, innocent, more like an actual rookie than the stage monster she turned out to be through months upon months of training in her company. “Whoa,” Miryo let out a half-surprised and half-awed sigh, almost completely ignoring the fact that they literally bumped into each other, coming from two different sides of the corridor’s corner. “So pretty. No wonder the oldies’s are having such a difficult time these days... How are we supposed to compete with all of--,” her hand reached out, gesturing in the air around the other, from Lisa’s head to toes. “--this?”

Miryo liked doing her best to fit in the crowd and simply wander around the city. When you’ve been a celebrity--an idol--for so long, you find the most pleasure in the simplest things; getting an ice-cream from a street stall, buying and reading the most basic newspaper on a bench in the park, walking a dog (except that she didn’t have one). And so she walked around, mostly aimlessly, in the most basic clothes she had found in her closet and a pair of big sunglasses, shielding her from both the sunlight and general recognition. It’s only when she enters a music shop and spends a fair amount of time going through different CDs and then vinyls--a guilty pleasure of hers--that she feels like she’s being watched. Not in a creepy or very obvious way, but her senses were tingling, making it difficult to ignore even if she wanted to. And she kind of did--it was such a nice, slow and uneventful day after all. Pity if all hell were to break loose now.
It wasn’t until the older spoke up that Cao Lu braked in her path to look back, turning to skate back over towards Miryo who, unfortunately, happened to be struggling quite a bit (much to her own amusement). There was absolutely nothing in her that could stop the burst of laughter from rising, a free hand lifting to cover her mouth and luckily, Cao Lu hadn’t gone too far ahead and so only had to glide a little ways away in order to reach her, hands out to hold at the bench top as well to keep balance.
“Unnie, don’t be dramatic. It really is easy- you just haven’t gotten the hang of it yet.” Even though it’s been about an hour or more since they’ve been out. And besides, Cao Lu made sure to stay right by the other while they were out on the rounds so the other woman would at least feel at ease, skating ahead only every now and again to move about freely (and without lying, maybe even to show off a little).
It was never anything complicated for her, but in her elder’s defense, maybe Cao Lu wasn’t that great a teacher.
With a small push off the bench, the younger glided backwards quite easily with enough force for a full turn before flashing a small grin and reaching her arms out to invite the other to keep moving. “Come on, we’re almost done with the first loop. Remember what I said in the beginning, you just have to push one foot forward and alternate. It’s easy peasy!”
“I’m gonna push one foot forward, alright. Push it right against your ass, if you don’t stop showing, you little--you.” She muttered, sounding almost angry and vicious, even though she obviously didn’t mean it in any malicious way, which was all betrayed by the smile curling her lips. Really, she couldn’t even be really mad or frustrated with her own self for being such a failure, because--well--said failure was kinda laughable. Funny. Just amusing. Even if she’s not going to learn how to skate properly, at least she’ll bring enough entertainment for the both of them--and the entire surroundings and its people, seeing her struggles too.
“I’m just not good at this. Just like dancing. Like, you know,” Miryo babbled, getting up eventually in the meantime, looking more like a seventy year old grandma with back and knees problems, not a healthy thirty-something learning how to rollerskate. Thank goodness she couldn’t have seen herself, or she would be embarrassed for life. “I will memorize the choreography and recreate it, but it doesn’t mean I can dance. Between a jello and a piece of wood, I’m like... a jello five years past expiration date. I’m sure you know what it looks and feels like.” She cackled, easily making fun of herself. Except that it wasn’t making fun, it was just truth.
In her own pace (which was much slower than the one of Cao Lu’s, no matter how much she tried to force it on her) and in her own, very special way of skating, Miryo followed the younger eventually, finishing the lap and starting on the other with what could be almost called a more and better practice. Perhaps it was some sudden boost of confidence, because hey, if I did one lap, I can surely do the second too, but she managed to fix her odd posture of someone who just started to learn and looked nearly normal. Nearly was still a big difference from completely, but beggars can’t be choosers, and she’d feel satisfied with the outcome anyway. One small step for the humanity, big step for Miryo.

"Instant disclaimer--” Miryo said even before sitting down, quick movements announcing her arrival with a gust of wind, as she came from behind Ailee, took a sudden 180 turn and dropped down on the seat on the other side of the table with very little grace and an apparent sigh, like she was glad to finally be even able to sit down. “--I’m so incredibly stressed I can’t handle any more stressful subjects. All I want today are stories, gossips and good vibes.” She said, tossing a quick glance around their surroundings, then focusing on the other female and--finally--showing her a smile. Or maybe a grin. Something in-between. “Tell me everything. This unnie is craving spicy details of other people’s lives. Or sweet. Sweet and spicy is the best.”
She felt like reiterating her question either way, because well, she’s surprised. Pleasantly so, but the surprise is more emphasized with how her hands can’t seem to be able to let go of her cheeks and her grin is a bit torn between stretching around a squeal and just staying put. Hyuna has a list of people she admires see, she has a list of people she would actually get tickets to go watch during anything at all. She’s a fan. As funny as it sounds because she’s certain people are quick to assume that if your’e the object of admiration you canot possibly admire someone other than yourself. How conceited would this world be then, right? And who would want to even be an idol if they didn’t have role models and idols to who’d inspired them to be where they are.
“Ah, unnie, I’m so touched, honestly.” Her hands are quick to cover her face for a few seconds before she’s dropping everything pretense and what pride, what maturity? She’s reaching over with her arms, eager to show just how much she was actually enjoying Miryo’s presence in her room at the moment. Especially considering the fact that she must be busy too, what’s with her being in the new season of the infamous show, unpretty rapstar. “Can I hug you first? I mean, this calls for happy and tight and death worthy hugs, don’t you agree?” But of course there’s the respect that stops her and makes her ask instead, she would have gone right for it if she’d met the other woman for more than a few weeks now and then. She has a thing with actually getting so close to people she liked that it was nearly impossible for her to not go on blabbering and bothering them to no end, sue her, but she is always overflowing with affection when she actually genuinely enjoys someone’s company.
“What kind of question is this--again? Aigo. C’mere, you little, silly woman.” She tsked with her tongue and pulled her in for the hug she had reached out for herself already, closing arms around her tiny frame. She wasn’t wrong to call her that--silly and little--because she really was just that. Extremely fragile looking, both in height and size, the latter of which Miryo suspected to be some extreme pre-comeback dieting, and then there was the silliness--both of her general character and lack of instincts regarding such basic things like permission to hug the older woman. Twenty-four years of age, but still a baby; especially in Miryo’s eyes. She was nearly sure she had some overprotective mother vibes going on when it came to Hyuna.
In the midst of said tight and happy and death worthy hugs, Miryo got a face full of the other’s hair--fluffy, stylized and product-rich hair--and she tried to blow it away, which she supposed made Hyuna squirmish, because then she wiggled a bit, and Miryo wiggled in return too, and it must’ve looked very odd and amusing to anyone watching them. “Do you think we’re out of breath enough now, or do we keep going until we drop down with our faces blue?” She asked in a hushed tone, holding back a laugh as, just for fun, she tightened her arms even more.

Oh. Oh God. Please, don’t. Just don’t drop any lower, stay where you are, for God’s sake-- Miryo chanted in her head, over and over, as her brain worked overtime to come up with a solution to the problem at hand. Or at cleavage, more like it.
It was just really unlucky. Apparently, white clothes had amazing magnetic ability to attract all red sauces in the whole world--and it just happened that she ended up craving spicy tteokbokki in the middle of the night, while dressed like this. Now the huge drop of hot pepper sauce was down her neckline, just mere millimeters from the edge of her shirt--a very white and very expensive shirt, that she liked very much--and the smallest move would’ve been enough to have that shirt move up (or the sauce down) and mess everything up.
“Hey,” She whispered to the girl sitting in the stall next to her, seemingly as eager and craving the spicy cakes as herself, minus the soju. And whispering was really the only way, because God, how embarrassing. “Hey, I’m sorry--can you help me? I really need a tissue.” She said, with as little movement as possible, trying to somehow, with her eyes only, gesture to her very urgent problem.
` ㅂ ´ ┊ Kibum was a devout listener as the elder enlightens him on the Gracefulness that was Grace–(well, to an extent, anyway. He likes to think he’s a good judge of character- a people person, so about 5 YouTube videos ago, he decided Grazy Grace was definitely someone to look out for). And from the way plush palms are clasped, one wouldn’t be wrong to think Miryo just spilled the juiciest gossip of 2016. “- And ontop of it all she’s still a rookie. Just debuted this February under a small company. But she keeps pushing herself out there for more projects.”
“Grace-ssi is the perfect example of someone who is so unforgivably themselves.” The hum that chimes afterwards is paired with a nod of approval. “Yup! She’s definitely not the conventional rapper—although, she has tried different styles for her covers. Her lyrical style is really playful. Speaking of catchy hooks–have you heard her debut song, “I’m Fine”?” He has. All 5 versions. “I’m surprised it didn’t go viral. The song was fun, super catchy and clever. It isn’t easy to get that combination in one bag, much less on the first try. She even shot a selfie version. God, I wish I thought of that song.”
Miryo’s nose scrunched slightly when Key followed up on her own observations, the knowledge of the hard work one is putting into their work, yet not having much results, being rather saddening and frustrating. “This is terrible, isn’t it? We both agree that she’s amazing, and surely many other people do too, and she works so hard, yet she can’t make a proper breakthrough. This industry is ruthless.” The sigh that fell from her lips was one of disappointment, and her shoulders dropped a bit, as if discouraged in place of Grace herself.
“It’s shameful, but I didn’t know her or her works before the tv show--some of the other contestants would make jokes in relation to her debut song, but I was clueless. Only a bit later, when we already started recording, I looked her up--and what a surprise to find someone this original and talented, but not known very much.” Miryo’s head nodded lightly, letting the fellow idol in on if and how much she knew about the subject of their conversation. “I’m somehow not surprised at all, that Kibumssi likes her, of all people. You’re kind of alike, eh? You’re both very--open. Expressive? You don’t seem like the type who’s afraid to just be yourself either. I think I could even easily feature you on one of Grace’s tracks.” She cracked a laugh, the idea suddenly popping up in her head and bringing instant amusement. “It’s okay, I’d want to collaborate with her too. After the show, hopefully!”

“Trust me, I’m almost like a professional.” Miryo said to the owner of a lithe hand placed in front of her on the small cushion on the table. She tried to sound reassuring, but perhaps the choice of words wasn’t the greatest for the effect she wanted to achieve. Almost was definitely the kind of words she could’ve passed over there. But it wasn’t her fault that that’s exactly what the case here was--she got this entire UV nails kit quite a few months ago, having heard here and there (and seeing it with her own eyes, too) that it’s not all that difficult to make proper use of. Although the first attempts had been miserable, to say the least, she slowly got better at it, eventually fixing nails of her friends--with different success, too, but hey, everybody was making mistakes from time to time, even actual professionals. Bad days happened to everyone.
“You just pick the colors and design, and I got it! Just like at the beauty parlor.” She reassured again, leaning over the carefully trimmed and filed nails and giving Jiyeon a small smile. (It might’ve looked just a little wickedly.)
OOC: I’ll dish out the rest of the starters & possible replies tomorrow. Peace! ✌️
"Are you a magician? Because whenever I look at you, everyone else disappears!"
“That’s--a really old and overused pick-up line, Yumissi. And one would’ve thought that this new generation will come up with something fresh and cool...”
Me slaughtering you? The only way I could slaughter you is death by overdose of love. – Shh, don’t share your expertise with anyone, I’m supposed to be cute and innocent and everything.
And that, my little one, is the most violent and brutal kind of slaughter. So there’s that. Ah, is that written in your contract? “Will be cute, innocent and youthful maknae under all circumstances”. So does it mean that, if I blow your cover, you’ll lose your job? Suddenly, there is so much power in my hands. I like it.
