The Blue Spirit putting out firebending with a bucket of water is the absolute funniest thing ever done in avatar combat. It just is.
So like... does this count as waterbending or?
The specific humiliation of sharing your writing with someone and then watching them read it in front of you in real time. they pause. why did they pause. that was a bad pause. now they're nodding but what does the nod mean. now they look up and say "wow" and you need to know IMMEDIATELY what kind of wow that was. there are at least six different wows and only one of them is good and you have aged fourteen years waiting to find out which one.
btw youāre a pathetic bully with mean girl attitude if you screenshot other peopleās fics to repost and mock them and the authors. youāre the reason fandoms become toxic when theyāre supposed to be a comfort zone and a safe space for people. and you have the audacity to say itās a shame more and more writers decided to no longer share their works. youāre harming fanfic community and youāre driving writers and fan artistsāwhose works youāre privileged enough to consume for freeāaway until the ones that are left are bullies like you. just because a fanfic is not for you doesnāt mean you have the rights to mock or shame it. not everything is made specifically to tailor to your personal liking. so disrespectfully, if you do this, grow tf up.
either respect fanfic writers and fan artists or be quiet.
I love characters who would die for each other but will not, under any circumstances, communicate a single honest feeling.
You're afraid to write because you care too much about your craft. Not because you suck.
You want it to be perfect. Worthy. You're scared it won't be good enough. But the thing is, everything you write is worthy if you write it with heart.
That fear doesn't make you a fraud, or lazy. It makes you a perfectionist who doesn't write as much as they should because their fear is choking them. Your writing will never be perfectānothing ever is.
So stop waiting for the perfect moment and go pour your heart out. Unleash your wildāand slightly disturbingāimagination onto those pages. Go create magic that only you can make.
GO WRITE THE THING YOU KEEP THINKING ABOUT DAY AND NIGHT. And make sure you write it for yourself before anyone else!
iām not procrastinating. iām allowing the story to ferment. like kimchi. or a crime scene
I may be a one trick pony, but goddamn if it ain't my favorite trick. Now watch me do it again, maybe I'll add a spin to the end just for you.
I say put him in more life or death situations if this is the result š
It's one of those weeks where the gotta work, gotta make that money make purse becomes run away run away far away, I cant take it anymore.
i love when people say "iād read your book!" like girl me too unfortunately i havenāt written it yet because i am trapped in a cycle of procrastination and the feeling of impending doom
the thing that's dumb about the whole "can you be a fan of a video game if you're watching gameplay on youtube rather than playing the game yourself" discourse, is that people keep comparing that to "reading the wikipedia summary", when to me it's more comparable to "listening to an audiobook" because listening to a story being read is a fundamentally different experience from reading the book yourself, But i think it would be strange if people argued that listening to an audiobook means you're not experiencing the story at all. just because it's not the way you're generally suppose to engage with books as medium.
look im not saying aromanticism makes characters more interesting automatically but yeah no thats exactly what im saying
The timing is just too funny š
My favorite reviews of my writing but it gets more controversial cause I've seen a lot of review discourse and while I understand and agree with it because it can come across the wrong way, some of the now big review don'ts on these lists are my favorite reviews:
Disclaimer! This is just me and my favorite reviews and like I said very controversial! So, please be careful about doing these to other writers are they may not appreciate it!!
Asking me to update soon, not in a pushy way like "update now" or "why no update" but in an excited way like "I can't wait for the next update!" "I'm on the edge of my seat. Please update soon!"
Full on confiscating my characters. Just taking them away and telling me I don't get them anymore. Bonus points if the reader comforts them themselves. Just *chefs kiss* I know I did a good job when I lose character privileges.
Insults, no not genuine ones, but more the ones that are like "I hate you, pls upload soon" or "how dare you do this to me, you're a horrible person" or honestly, I accept curses too. Like, call me a bitch or an asshole, as long as you mean it in an aggressive endearment sort of way (and please clarify with a compliment, further reaction, or at minimum tone indicators cause I've been writing since I was like twelve on fanfiction.net so you know I have review trauma) but that's my love language so get aggressive but like, still make it endearments. Scream at me, call me names. If my writing impacted you in such a big way, let me know.
Talk with me about your hopes for future chapters. "I hope this person comes back/this person better not be dead!" "Oh they better talk this issue out or ill be pissed" just dont expect it to happen and get mad if it doesnt cause at the end of the day, its my story BUT please if you are hoping to see something, tell me! It has changed the trajectory of my stories before cause someone suggested something and I was like "Wait, but that's actually a good idea. I'm gonna add it" and I also like to know you're engaged in my writing to have hopes and anticipation for future chapters. Who knows you might strike up a conversation with me/inspire another fanfiction or sequel.
How it started... How it's going
Writing culture is⦠starting a fun oneshot fanfic story to get it outa your head, but ending up stillĀ hyperfixated years later, writing the now 80k+ Novel, filler Series, and planned Prequel story as itĀ refusesĀ toĀ leave your mind because you and your characters are stubborn and af.Ā
