Already missing my mountains and dreamy morning runs down gravel roads

I can’t wait for mountain summer runs again. This is one of my favorite running routes. It ends at a camping ground with a lovely creek and I love dipping my toesies in the cold water at the end of it all.

wake up. i know it’s early and you want to stay in this warm bed for another hour. the last thing you want to do is stumble through the dark and put on your running shoes and head out the door.

but get up. trust me.

once you step outside, the air will hit you and you’ll hear birds beginning to sing their songs for the day and you’ll realize how quiet the world is right now. it’s just you and your breath striding through this perfect morning.

the trees are the most perfect shade of green in early morning light. you will smile at the moon still in the sky as it says farewell.

it will be the best start to your day.

so just get up. trust me.
