Terrajoule information about their exciting solar thermal technology

A group of Australian engineers have “re-invented” the steam engine and combined it with solar thermal energy to deliver a cheap solar storage solution.

A great introduction to Terrajoule's solar thermal storage systems and explanation of the benefits of their technology. Terrajoule are currently clients of HARD software and my association with Robert Mierisch goes back to when he worked with me as a PhD. student 25 years ago. Highly recommended reading on this exciting new technology.

Stephen Wallace & Norval Hope details added

Stephen Wallace is well known in the energy industry for his unparalleled expertise in market analysis, optimisation and market design. Stephen and I have worked together for many years and currently working on detailed gas optimisation project.

Norval Hope worked with Denis Dowling and myself at The Preston Group developing optimisation and simulation software, mainly for the aviation industry. Since then he has developed strong Java skills in addition to his C/C++ skills and worked on a diverse range of projects and technologies, such as Cassandra, Spring and web services.

HARD software delivers the APA Culcairn Allocation System

The Culcairn Allocation System (CAS) has now gone live for performing the allocation agent and production requirements for the Culcairn gas node, that is the main interconnection of gas between Victoria and NSW, for APA.

HARD software worked with the APA team and provided the software requirements, design, development and system testing resources to APA to deliver the system that processes the AEMO gas schedule, market and metering data for allocating gas shipped between the two states, performs the allocations and sends the allocation data to AEMO and also designed and developed a real time operator graph for the APA production operators at Young NSW.

HARD software specialises in the design, development and implementation of software solutions for the energy industry and thanks all those involved with the project for their efforts to successfully deliver this critical project.

HARD software implementing Envestra/APA metering solution

HARD software is now providing software requirements, design, development and testing resources to APA and Envestra to implement the wholesale metering solution for the wholesale NSW Country Energy gas business that was acquired by Envestra in 2010. HARD software is working within the APA project team to deliver the metering solution for implementation in September 2012 after successfully delivering the billing system in 2011 for the wholesale NSW Country Energy gas business.
