Just finished The Invincible, a short little sci fi game I got in a humble bundle and wow. New favourite game.
The sheer weight of isolation and helplessness, being so distant from humanity trapped on a hostile planet. The world building details, the beautiful landscape and great music. The game didn't waste any time or mechanics, everything had a purpose reaching towards a conclusion of some kind. I got so attached to the character, and the very dead world we were walking through.
There is no save, no restart. You are stuck with the choices you made, or even your hesitation or lack of observance. I'm not sure which of the many endings I got yet, because I am just reading through the comic book it saved and havent googled out the others as i didn't want to bias my own story. and oh how I love that it saved my story as a comic book to read back over. how clever.
this was based on a book and I think I need to read it. see how my story narrative compared to the book's story. although googling now this might be a prequel to the book? even better imo. two stories of that planet!
