║✎║: Scheduled to assist Hansol in opening the cafe, Naminé was surprised to find a hastily scribbled note attached to the main door:
Had to deal with some things, so I won’t make it back. Have the day off! -H
She hadn’t bothered to create additional plans other than her work, thus found her schedule suddenly open slightly disappointing. Well, she thought, at least I have time to finish those drawings. There were a stack of loose sheets displaying unfinished sketches she kept hidden behind the main counter. Door key in hand, Naminé quickly entered the shop to collect the items.
In her rush to gather her things and leave, and having forgotten the door wasn’t shut properly, a cheerful bell abruptly interrupted her train of thoughts. She immediately waved them away as an unsuspecting patron and began to initiate a scripted apology
“Sorry, but we’re closed today. You can come bac–”
It wasn’t until she laid eyes on him that her words fell to silence. His reappearance jolted her out of place. Her grip loosened on the pile of sketches restrained in her careful embrace, the sheets scattering around her feet.
“Axel? Is that really you?”
Well now, it really is her!
Considering all the washed up versions of everyone else he’s known and met here guess a guy really shouldn’t be all that surprised. Kinda funny if ya ask him. You’d think Kingdom Hearts swallowed ‘em all and just spat the Nobodies back out but that ain’t right considering the first one he ran into was a certain Keyblade master a little too well renown as the hero of their show.
He wags a gloved finger almost expectantly at the little artist in white if not playfully disappointed. Of course it was him, who else could he be? Certainly Namine knew better. Last he checked their captors were sweet enough to keep their memories intact unless her pencils and sketchpad had anything to do with that...
He shuffles forward just to kneel and gather the stack of sheets- c’mon Namine, they’re gettin’ everywhere before offering the stack in an upturned hand. Boy that look on her face was priceless.
“So, how does it feel? Y’know, bein’ somethin’ other than Marluxia’s little caged canary of course.”
levitersora:
“Hm?” That’s strange. Usually Axel wasn’t the one to completely space out, right? At least not that he could recall. Though it didn’t bother the islander too much. He was at leats glad to get him out of those thoughts… hopefully they weren’t too bad. “Heh, you know I’m always down to get something to eat. My options are always open. As long as we don’t over-stuff ourselves too. After all, what’ll we do if we’re too full to actually go exploring some place here. I hear their’s some hidden castle in this place and I still haven’t found it.” Sora let out an exaggerated sigh as his efforts for the past month turned out empty.
Though he couldn’t help but find curiosity on what Axel could be thinking. “Anyway, I don’t know know how much I can answer you, but I’ll give it a shot. is it the thing that was bothering you earlier?”
Man oh man.
When words are just ashes of a rush and built up memories come to shove he ain’t even sure how to do this. Shoulders lurch for a hot second there and he grumbles something to himself before hoisting up from his designated sitting spot. Same old, right? You’d think this kinda thing just got completely dull after a while but it’s like he’s totally been there done that before and if anyone’s not gonna give him a runaround it’s Sora for sure.
Oh well, here goes.
“So there’s.. this girl. I keep seein’ her but.. not really seein’ her, y’know? Like she’s there but not really. .. she looks a lot like Kairi.”
It’s the last part that gets him crazy.
A FIERY INFERNO burns through your veins Feel the FIRE And SCORCH your enemies
“I always told you those upside down tears would keep you from crying”

“This place is so weird, isn’t it?” Xion asked, leaning over the railing of the tallest building with a proper roof she could find in the main city of Spirale. So many eclipses and, if the two were up here at the right time, they could spot the new arrivals just… materializing right there around the pit. She wasn’t sure how to feel about the whole thing. On one hand, the Organization didn’t seem to have a hand in it considering the two of them were here unaware, but at the same time it still had the… Organization creep charm to it.
“Do you think the owners here are gathering so many people for a reason?” Of course they were. There was always some sort of reason. The odd doubles event from before showed the ‘owners’ of this place had some tricks up their sleeves. She wasn’t a fan of it, even if it was a tad freeing for her. It felt a little weird, knowing both Axel and Lea. Even if Lea was different, after all.
Yeah, swirling lilac sunsets tinted in rose gold kinda seemed to be a thing no matter where he went. The eclipses, though? Those were just weird. He comes here a lot more than he lets on or at least he did at first hoping to find at least one familiar face. Took a while but his thoughts for prayers seemed answered eventually when he stumbled across Xion lookin’ all lost.
Up pops one, then another and another. Before they know it Spirale is bursting at the brim with newcomers and he’s gotta wonder if they make it out someday, somehow. He squints through is own skepticism at her question, twirling a finger lazily before both arms drop against the railing and he half leans over it lazily.
“No kidding. Of course they’re doin’ it for a reason. Why else would they nab up people from other worlds? I’m startin’ to wonder if the creeps behind it all might be anybody we know...”
bloxkey:
“Oh, sorry- wait, you know my name?” Another person? Gee, the other him must’ve been popular or something- Sora knew that the other Sora was important, but it seemed like he might’ve underestimated that.
“Yeah, I’m Sora! I think you know the other Sora, though.” Or at least, he’d assume as much. If there were more Soras out there, he didn’t know about them. “It’s number 222. Who are you, then?”
Oh, right.
Another Sora. So, Sora here knew Sora there and suddenly there’s just a whole bunch of Sora everywhere. Total brainmelt. Way to make a guy huff in his own tracks, man. If Axel could sizzle over here he’d damn well be doing it right about now.
“Well of course I know your name! You’re.. everywhere apparently. 222. Gotcha. Me? I’m Axel. Now that we’ve both got it memorized let’s go find your townhouse.”
what the fuck, Axel
@incinders liked for a starter
“Hey, d’you know where this townhouse place is supposed to be?” Sora had picked a random person, no particular reason, to attempt to figure out where to go next. It was easier when he’d had people to help him out, for sure- but the A.I. wasn’t going to be discouraged! Not to mention, he was pretty sure this guy, too, had been looking at him. Did he really stick out that much in this place?
Whoa. Townhouse what now?
Didn’t he just? Now wait a memorized minute... just what’s goin’ on here? Didn’t he just see Sora a little while ago? Come to think of it he looked taller, dressed way differently and even older too. Ohhhh he gets it. Another game of the islands probably. With an exasperated sigh he just gives it up to the captors. Well played and all being a total figment of his ashed up imagination, an actual incarnation of the keyblade hero himself or heck, maybe even both.
Oh well. Playing along is what he does best.
“Oh, sorry. Were you talkin’ to me? It’s rude not to introduce yourself first, Sora. What number? Better hurry up and tell me or else I can’t help!”

The journey Sora had endured, the friends and enemies he had made, they stuck with him no matter what world he manage to find himself in. Sleeping world, real world, any kind of world thrown at him, those kinds of memories stuck with him. Even so, there was still something missing. A feeling of emptiness that the boy had to get use to. Ventus’ heart had returned. Roxas was brought back. In his journey to save Kairi, he thought about them, and how they were able to live their lives now as someone whole. To catch up on their own adventures. Sora was happy for them, and even more happy for those who were waiting for them to return.
Speaking of one waiting for a friend to return, there was no way Sora would miss the flaming red-head cross by, minding his own business it seems. It didn’t feel that long since Sora left to save Kairi. Though time has a weird way in working its way through this world. Maybe it hasn’t been that long for the other. But what could he say after all this time?
“… You know, there’s an ice cream special going on a few stores over. Pretty sure you wanna check that out.” That’s one way to grab the other’s attention, resting his hands behind his head before smiling back at the other.
“It’s good to see you again, Axel.”
Oh yeah, the special. Right. Beat ya to it. He knows all ‘bout that.. just hasn’t gotten all caught up in the excitement yet. Guess he got all caught up in those ‘memories’ again. Y’know it really ticks a guy off not to remember somethin’, heck! More like someone so important there’s imprints of laughter laced in pain where some girl used to be. At least that’s the gist he gets of it anyway.
Just who the hell was she, huh?! Maybe their good ol’ island dwellers did this. Completely put a chip in everyone’s memories just to watch ‘em run around sweating all the forgotten stuff at their heels. Can’t say he didn’t deserve it. Why, it’s the same little mind game and tricks of the memory trade they- he more specifically played with Sora once.
Oh boy, speaking of the hero...
Whoops, lost in his head again. Man oh man. Gotta stop doin’ that when a certain someone talks to him or else it’s gonna look like he doesn’t have it memorized! Flames for thought. Maybe Sora has an idea. Sorry for the half baked smile there, he’s just out on every limb with this little mystery on his totally empty hands.
“Hey buddy. Likewise. So uh, wanna grab a bite? Got somethin’ I wanna ask you actually.”
He is the light of my life 💖
mentiors:
“You know exactly what I mean.” His arms were crossed and he turned his head to the side. Admittedly, there was no reason for him to even talk to the other - just because everyone else had decided to play nice didn’t mean he had to.
“It’d only be fair, right?” He started, crossing his arms, “But I can’t right now.” A small confession, since the other would likely not strike. Wouldn’t wanna waste his own life, after all. At least according to his own logic.
And as illogical as Axel may seem to others, Riku knew he was actually pretty damn cunning.
“Just know I won’t be tricked a second time. Whatever you and your group are planning.”
“Yeah, yeah. Don’t go makin’ empty threats all at once there, pal. We’re all trapped, y’know? Powerless too. So, sorry to break it to ya. If you’re gonna kill me you’re gonna be waitin’ a long while.”
So maybe he’s fanning the flames there just a little bit. Besides, he’s living fire. You can’t just snuff an inferno out. Sure, Repliku had every little reason to be peeved with a capital P at him considering the emotions tied to their encounters weren’t actually fabricated. Way to take everything to the heart neither of them either had, man. Guess a guy’s just gotta digress, huh? Not like he asked for a vacation on some island where every mistake he once oh so happily played along with from his past would inevitably come back to haunt him.
Now that’s karma. Bummer. Never got along well with her unless he was the one dishing it out with trusty chakrams in his hot little hands, sharp sides up à la execution style. He squints though, shuffling back with an indignant wave of the hand and a gasp.
“Me and my group? Now that’s just insulting! Who said I had anything to do with those guys anymore? Just ‘cause I died and reincarnated with the coat doesn’t mean I still live by their rules.”
Or heck, ever played by them for that matter.
“Got it memorized?”
the numbers on the door matched those on the scrap of paper from the day he woke up near the edge of that enormous cliff. the meaning behind them never made sense, it was just the similarity that brought him to the doorstep, watching them as if reading enough times or for long enough might reveal the answer. finding out what was inside, if maybe it led home, wasn’t happening — he couldn’t get the thing stuck to the door to work, whatever it was.
there wasn’t much choice but to turn to someone else; the humans didn’t seem to be interested in catching the first wild Pokémon to cross their paths. in fact, he couldn’t recall see any partnered Pokémon this whole time. the more he thought about it, the more confusing it all was. giving into the inevitable, he hopped back onto the pavement, into the line of a man strolling alongside the road.
“kacha. piikaa?”
@incinders
Whoa!
Almost tripped over the little yellow ball of... flailing mouse there. Weird. Gotta admit it’s almost adorably small and he just can’t resist reaching out to carefully set a gloved hand atop it’s head. Aw! He talks too! Pika? That his language? Nah, maybe a name. Everyone’s got a name. Curious eyes blink down at the obviously not so island native creature before he raises to full height and silently inspects the door.
Huh, maybe this was his place? Hopefully it’s a him or else it’s gonna sound totally weird. Oh boy.
“Hey little guy, this your place? You tryin’ to get in? Gotta be what all the fuss is about, right?”
