Oh! Um, yes, of course! I can probably do that. Iâve had several people contact me about this, but I should be able to fit you in. Do you have any background in ASL to begin with? Or any prior knowledge? Itâs not necessary at all, Iâm just wondering where Iâd need to start.
Iâm familiar with greetings, the alphabet and... a song I learned in church but thatâs the extent of my knowledge, unfortunately.
Also, if your class is full(or close to your levels of comfort), I understand, Skylar. Thereâs absolutely nothing wrong with that; if anything, Iâm glad so many people are taking interest! The last thing I want to do is overwhelm you when youâve just gotten out of the responsibility from the school year, especially with my novice knowledge. Thatâs not going to help.
[pm] There is no need to feel empathy over my situation. It doesnât require it. Being immortal is a burden at times, and it just happens to be one now. After you have lived for so long you see the same moments pass by, its constant. No one can entirely understand our situation, because time is only presenting you one lifetime.Â
I have known two people for so long, centuries, and I will have to witness another one falling apart like the other had. Iâll have to see that spark, that light in their eyes disappear, what I love enjoy about them, vanish. I find it ironic, someone so cruel as I, can maintain the one the thing that they cant seem too.Â
So, no. I am not okay. Every night I consider what it would be like to watch an entire neighborhood perish. Just to see the results. Just to feel something from long ago. Just to feel period.Â

You have too much time, too much information and yet you still have time and the choice of what to do with that time. My life is half over, possibly cut much shorter because of this disease wolf inside that tears apart anything it can find. Iâm sure I chose this as much as you chose to be turned but unlike you, I have no master to help me nor do I have several lifetimes to reflect and contemplate what I am and what I will become.
I am here now, and you will be when Iâm not. I cannot imagine the pain youâve endured, the loss youâve suffered, the power youâve had to control and suppress. To be immortal carries such a unique weight to it that I can never experience. But as Iâm mortal on this earth, carrying this weight of my own...

[pm] Kind of. Iâve always been a bit of a history nerd. I have started to focus a bit more into civilizations culture, specifically legends and mythology. But I try not to specifically limit myself to that. Iâm a history major so I mostly just like reading about the past. But the supernatural is particularly interesting to me.
Right. I wish there was some map. Or book that told me. Anything to make it easier. I have found- and bear with me because this is super sappy - But I found that when I finally started to make some friends I sorta got a better idea on who I wanted to be. I grew up with very little knowledge about the supernatural other than the stories my mother told me of witches but I.... regrettably donât remember them.
I donât think thatâs sappy at all. Humans are social creatures and especially those with lower self-esteem or are full of self-doubt are encouraged by others to discover their true potential. At the end of the day, Orion is Orion but who Orion is can absolutely be shaped and influenced by the people he cares about and who care about him or even by the ones he doesnât.

[pm] Throughout different cultures, werewolves appear in a lot of them. Greek and Nordic mythologies have stories of men being turned into wolves against their will and go on a killing spree. French history is riddled with stories of killers that claimed they could turn into wolves, and did so to murder villagers. But those are just legends. There isnât any evidence backing that up. Thereâs no proof that werewolves even exist.
I mean, I would totally be scared in the moment, of course. But the idea of being scared of a person just because they turn into a werewolf just⊠isnât right. The thing about the stories about the French killers and the nordic soldiers⊠they were already killers. If the werewolf thing was true, this didnât make them more or less vicious. It just made them stronger.Â
At least, thatâs what history and literature tells usâŠ
Those are very kind things to say but⊠right now Iâm not really accomplishing much. Not until I figure out some of my own life stuff. But uh- thanks. Once I really nail down who Orion is maybe Iâll understand.

Well, one thing Iâve learned throughout life is that once you figure out Orion, then the rest of the pieces fit into place eventually. Unless they donât. Itâs just getting that that no one knows how to do.

The werewolf wasnât sure which was harder; struggling to get into his car, making the slow, arduous walk through the parking lot and debating literally every step of the way to collapse there and be wheeled via stretcher the rest of the way or nervously standing at the front desk asking for a Queenie Lin-King, feeling as uncomfortable as though he were standing on a stage in front of hundreds of people and expecting to get his speech right the first time. However, Simon was much less concerned with how he appeared as he asked for the doctor, leaning generously on the desk with the most casual expression he could muster though he could feel his good leg threatening to give out on him as it quivered with the strain. He was patient, though⊠far be it for him to inconvenience anyone on purpose. He was sure Dr. Lin-King was a busy woman and his sudden need was what he considered âunimportantâ.Â
Queenie had let the nurses know that someone should be coming to ask for her. She had spoken with him online not long ago, and he mentioned that he was leaving right away. So it was only a matter of time until she got the page that he was here. How she got stuck babysitting every friend of Reganâs that came to the hospital, Queenie would never know. She would also never quite understand how Regan had made so many friends in this town. Things seemed different than they were at John Hopkins. When Queenie got the call, she handed her current patient and clipboard off to a nearby doctor and made her way towards the waiting room. She pushed through the doors and asked the nurse to point Simon out. It wasnât hard to pick out, it was the guy in pain and putting his entire weight on one leg. Great. âSimon.â Queenie acknowledged as she got close to him. I am Dr. Lin-King. You are clearly in pain. Iâd like to get a better look at it. Follow me to my office.â
He turned sharply when he was addressed and his eye befell the doctor; tall, striking, professional. Part of Simon wondered how long she and Regan knew each other, if long but he kept his questions to himself - he didnât want to take more of her time than was absolutely necessary as he already wasted part of it turning to regard her before slowly limping after her to follow her to her office, wordlessly at first but as they walked, he picked up several scents that he remembered from visiting his father at the hospital back home. âIâm sorry to be a bother,â He said with a grunt after a lengthy pause.
âFollow my instructions clearly and you wonât be a bother at all.â Queenie assured the man. Perfect patients didnât exist. But following her directions without wiggling around too much came as close as Queenie could get. As long as Simon didnât complain as much as Regan did, they should be fine. Queenie led him back towards the office. Not an ideal space for stitches if that would be necessary, but it was more private for the Queenie to get a look at the thing without the rest of the staff worrying about accounts payable. Once they got in, Queenie shut the door and drew the blinds, âWhere is the wound at?â Queenie asked the man, âAnd rate how badly it hurts on a scale of 1-10.â
Simon was reminded of his many hospital visits throughout the years pulled back in time with her curt professionalism and heâd have been lying if he said he⊠didnât miss it. Visits to the doctor and hospital were frequent in his youth both for familial and personal reasons and this was the first time in months; almost a part of him he didnât want to abandon, the things that made him human. He was quiet until they got to her office where he turned with a sharp exhale through his nose and pointed to the dark stain on his jeans - it was dry at the moment but he didnât want to chance staining any more pairs of pants. If he remembered correctly, the area he was pointing to was the lateral of his right thigh. âAnd⊠if I may be honest, itâs probably a nine or ten.â He wasnât overplaying anything; that wasnât him. He was being honest when he said this pain was unlike any heâd ever truly experienced and part of him wanted the leg gone altogether. Usually, he wouldâve rather downplayed it but⊠not this time.
The bloostain wasnât exactly subtle, but it had been dried. Either this was an older pair of jeans or the wound had stopped bleeding a while ago. Most likely, something was beneath the layer of jeans soaking up any blood. âYouâll need to disrobe,â Queenie instructed, crossing the room to pull a fresh hospital gown from her desk. âYou can wear this if that makes you more comfortable. Do you need me to step out for a moment? If not, get on with it. If the pain is as severe as you claim, I donât want to waste any more time.â
Ah, disrobing. Simon hadnât been instructed to that in a long time. Given that at least four different people found him completely naked the morning after various full moons, he wasnât exactly the modest type anymore, especially in the presence of a doctor. âNo, itâs⊠youâre fine,â He said as he started to remove his clothing and reveal the faded blotches of black ink that stained his skin from when he fell into the ocean. The process wasnât as fast as he was used to given how sore he was feeling all over - particularly his leg of course but he had forgotten the teeth marks here and there on the rest of him - but eventually, he managed to strip down to a point he remembered being acceptable for a doctor to work with. âI know you⊠probably donât want to hear this but I appreciate your, uh⊠being succinct.â
Queenie stood patiently as the man worked to take his pants off. It didnât look easy, further testament to the pain he was in. âHow long have you had this wound again?â Queenie asked him. How could somebody with a stab wound go this long without seeking medical treatment? And if the man hadnât been actively avoiding hospitals, then why had it taken so long for him to reach out? It was not like the hospital was a far trip from the Medical Examinerâs office. âWell, I prefer to get things done. Nobody wants to be in a hospital for longer than they have to. And I certainly donât need to keep my space cluttered with patients.â Working in an actual examination room would be more efficient, but she wanted to get a better look at it here before deciding if it warranted surgery or not. If he was right when he talked about bone, then she may have no other choice. âRest your leg up on the other chair. Iâm going to start looking at it. There will be pain, Iâll need you to sit still.â
âSince, uh⊠Sunday,â Simon replied quietly, as he sat where she instructed and, his breath shuddering in a faint exhale, managed to lift his leg to put it on the chair she motioned. He wanted, to distract from the incoming pain, to ask Queenie about how she knew Regan, about whether or not she was familiar with the supernatural and as that particular though crossed his mind without leaving it, he glanced around and took one of the legs of his jeans in his stained hands, ready to rip into the material if she poked or prodded something too intensely and his damned werewolf strength, even at its weakest point because of the new moon, reacted before he had a chance to address the situation and wanted to tear something up. âYes, maâam,â He replied in a tone that suggested she could begin when she wanted.
Queenie gave Simon an unimpressed glare. âAnd explain why you waited so long to reach out to me. Or go to a hospital.â She crouched down, becoming level with the wound on Simonâs leg. She reached her arm up to flicking her desk lamp on and repositioning it to point at Simonâs wound. She pressed her gloved hands along the outside of the wound, noticing the discoloring around the wound. âLooks infected. Youâre lucky that itâs not worse off than it was.â It also was deeper than Queenie assumed. Maybe Simon hadnât been exaggerating. âIf your bone was damaged, itâll take more than an examination. Iâd like to get an X-Ray to get a better look at it.â She pressed lightly around the wound, testing for any discomfort or pain. âWe would have to take care of that before worrying about stitching the wound up.â
The chance to respond was smothered in an automatic response to her pressure, light as it was on his exposed skin, sharp like the blade that he had no memory of piercing through him and Simon sucked in another breath, feeling his grip tightening on the jean material. âWell, yâknow,â He said through clenched teeth before he forced himself to relax. âI⊠trust Reganâs professional opinion and⊠Iâd never heard of you before,â He responded softly; he realised their last exchange that wasnât work-related was⊠less than fortunate and he struggled to try to rationalise why. Why had he said that? Was it the wolf? Would an apology to either her or Kaden be intrusive? Nosy. Parasite. Virus. Always repeating in his head whenever he tried to think critically, like a mist that pervaded his thoughts. Iâm not worth it, was another one that he had to restrain himself from saying. âSorry I didnât come sooner,â He apologised. âEr⊠bad habit.â He gulped. He wanted to say that he just now got affirmation that he wasnât going to be outed as a werewolf at the hospital; no one told him the details or rules or⊠anything. âAnd, uh⊠just tell me where to go and what to do.â He concluded.
Queenie scoffed, âWell I suppose if Regan should be trusted it should be based off of her professional opinion rather than a personal one.â Queenie couldnât resist a chance to dig at Regan, even if she werenât there to hear it. âDonât apologize for it.â Queenie waved his apology away. Apologies did nothing to fix the situation. It was too late now. The damage had already been done. Now it was just figuring out how much damage was done. âFollow me.â
Queenie led Simon out of her office and found and stole an examination room. âStand here. Iâm going to take some prior scans from an X-Ray machine and then have you lay down to take some additional scans.â She began with the dorsal scans, working quietly for the most part. It was not until she instructed him to lay down that she spoke to him. âDo you two work together? At the Medical Examinerâs office?â
So Regan was either something of a personal acquaintance or just a bad patient. Simon could somehow see both given the womanâs steady denial of anything unusual. While he himself wasnât raised with any inclination to believe that the supernatural was real, he was taught to have an open mind⊠he couldnât imagine not, especially now. He painstakingly got to his feet then he painstakingly followed the woman to wherever she was leading him - probably an examination room, which was the correct guess and he steeled himself when she told him to stand there, placing all his weight on his good leg as he felt his nails digging into his palm as he tried to redirect the pressure and hurt. He was going to say something in response but in a nice turn, she didnât take these opportunities of silence between them to badger him for small talk. He never was fond of it when it came to scenarios like this. Not that he MINDED necessarily, but⊠He responded when she asked, thankful for the chance to lay down and redistribute the weight to the rest of him. âSort of. Iâm just the⊠janitor at the morgue.â There was a time he liked it; to an extent, he still liked it. But there was something about either the job or him now that felt unwelcome and abusive. He wasnât sure why.
Queenie finished her scans rather quickly. It helped that Simon did not ask too many questions regarding the machine or what she was looking for, unlike most patients. Instead, Simon followed instructions and remained quiet unless responding to one of Queenieâs own questions. The only thing that slowed him down was the wound that they were examining. âI see. Well Iâm sure youâre kept busy there. Iâve heard about the other Medical Examiner and his hair issues.â Queenie answered nonchalantly, pulling the machine away from Simon and moving away from the table that he was on. âYou can sit up now.â She made her way over to the monitor and began pulling the images, ready to print so that she could finally get a good look. âIâll return in just a moment.â She exited the room to grab the results before returning, studying the sheets as she hung them on the board. âIt doesnât look like your bone is fractured, which is a good sign. Though it definitely was injured. Iâd like to go in and clean up the area around the bone. Make sure there isnât any chance of infection and then stitch the wound up. How do you feel about sedation?â
âThe hair and all the glass, yeah,â Simon replied quietly, his tone making it evident that he didnât really think about what he said and that he didnât immediately regret saying it. He sat up, supporting his torso with quivering arms, his tired yet alert eyes following her as she left the room. Was it bad? What did Alain do? What did HE do? The wolf was stubborn⊠if he just stayed all the way as a human when he was in his car, he couldâve called an ambulance right then but that definitely wouldâve raised questions; âwhat happened, why are you covered in teeth mark, what happened to your skin, whereâs the dog that was just hereâ. âI donât knowâ wouldnât have sufficed, he didnât think. His gaze was still on the door when she returned and she hung the sheets. The older man was relieved when she mentioned that the bone wasnât fractured, effectively making it easier. What seemed a little less easy was the sedation, which he felt accelerate his heart. What if he was sedated? Would the wolf come out thinking he was dying again? Would something else happen? . . . It was fine. Someone wouldâve told him if it wasnât. Right? âSedation is fine,â He said, giving her a half smile. âAnything to make it easier for you.â
Apparently, Reganâs screaming wasnât a one time thing in the morgue. If Simonâs statement was anything to go off of. âPerfect.â Queenie answered, pulling her phone out of her pocket and flipping through her calendar. She supposed she could get things covered for the afternoon if Simon was available today. It wasnât ideal, and it certainly wasnât protocol. But there was risk in letting the wound continue even longer exposed to nature. It needed to be cleaned, treated, and wrapped so that it may begin healing properly. âI may be able to squeeze you in today. It certainly isnât policy. But it shouldnât be a difficult operation. I would recommend taking a few days off to stay off of the leg. After that, limit activity and you may have a limp for a while. I would say full recovery within a month.â Queenie rattled off the information as her fingers typed into her phone. She just needed to grab a few people to help out with the operation, and find an open room. âAlso, no telling Regan I didnât follow policy. I donât need her whining to me about protocol.â She finished typing and glanced at Simon again. âDoes today work for you? If so, follow me so we can get you prepped.â
Simon listened intently to every word Queenie said, giving comprehensive nods as she spoke though he couldnât help but wonder how that time equated to werewolf healing - whether he wanted to acknowledge it or not, that was something that pumped through him alongside the pain from the stab wound. Would a month translate into two weeks? What was the exchange rate on time required to heal a wound? Heâd ask Ulfric. But first, he quirked his head slightly at her remark not to tell Regan - closer than acquaintances. He gave a quiet âOkay, I wonâtâ and shakily stood up from the table where he sat, legs almost buckling but he leaned back slightly for support and managed to stay upright. This would be fine. He trusted her more than he trusted himself not to shift or ruin anything. He was in control. He was dealing with it. âIâm following you.â So he did.
[pm] Simon, an untreated wound is a profound risk to your health and well being. I donât want to promise bind you into doing anything, but you have to take a stab wound seriously. I mean, for goodness sake, the human hospital is running a campaign [medical blood tw] on the issue.Â
I am not surprised you envy it. Yet, you can only do the best with the hand you are given. Which is a very good hand considering that you started human.Â
[pm] Yeah, you're... Right. I guess I just thought the wolf would keep it under control until things smoothed over and I could get it examined proper. Maybe a promise bind would actually keep me accountable. That poor girl, though... W-wait the doctors eat people?

[pm Thatâs a little on the noseâŠ. ConsideringâŠ. Ha ha. Yeah. Well, uh- werewolves arenât the ones that scare me. Or the idea of werewolves at least. I mean, everything scares me as mentioned. But werewolves arenât inherently scary, depending on who the person is that turns into one. Theoretically, of course.

Well going by your current schedule, you seem to be well on your way to inspiring someone, even if you don't think so. And I hope you don't think of yourself as a burden...
