Ive read the comics and i read it as mostly a joke but i could be wrong. Either way fan works are transformative by nature. Spy wasn’t even scouts dad when the characters were released. You don’t have to accept it as canon, or you can throw canon out the window if you want to. And even if you don’t its just a ship. As long as its tagged there’s nothing wrong with it.

the problem wasn’t even people shipping it in general (although I don’t like that- I can’t exactly stop people), it was that someone reblogged MY platonic post involving spy and scout onto a spyscout blog and tagged it as spyscout.

I’m not on some crusade to end shipping- I just don’t want my post on that blog- I want it deleted and I don’t want my posts reblogged there in the future.
