       a  smile  slowly  creeps  onto  her  features,  eyes  flitting  up  to  meet  the  other  girl’s  for  a  split  second  before  looking  back  down  at  her  dollhouse.   to  anyone  looking  at  them  from  a  distance,  they  must  have  seemed  like  two  girls  innocently  playing  around  with  a  toy.   if  only  they  knew  that  amma  was  showing  her  a  replica  of  her  mother’s  prized  marble  floor,  made  completely  out  of  two  murdered  little  girls’  teeth.   ❛    well,  you  know  how  that  old  saying  goes.    ❜   the  roof  of  her  dollhouse  is  gently  put  back  in  its  place  before  she  turns  to  face  hedy.   ❛    great  minds  think  alike.    ❜

       ❛    we  can  if  you  wanna,  millie.    ❜   the  use  of   the  childhood  nickname  sits  weirdly  on  her  tongue;  it  was  only  marian  who  called  her  that,  if  she  would  believe  what  gala  once  said.   unsurprisingly,  amma  didn’t  think  that  it  suited  camille  ——  sounded  too  sweet  and  serene,  both  things  that  she  knew  her  sister  wasn’t  (  though  she  wonders  if  that’s  what  made  it  suit  her  back  then,  even  partially  ).   

but  it  was  okay,  because  mama  loved  marian  and  if  she  was  like  her ?   mama  would  love  her  more  than  their  late  sister.   she  had  to,  or  else.   ❛    i’m  not  opposed  to  a  weird  little  hand  holdin’  session  chanting  some  equally  weird  words  out,  you  know.   me  and  my  friends  do  it  all  the  time.    ❜   she  leans  closer,  voice  dropping  to  a  whisper  as  she  says,   ❛    usually  when  we’re  high.    ❜
