I think a lot about edcr and steez and how they parallel & contrast each other. how they started speedrunning at around the same time, are introduced as a duo in s9 playoffs, two friends who picked each other bc that way at least one of them would get to move on. the 1 seed vs the very last lcq winner— no one expects steez to win, but he does, in a clean 3-0 sweep.
and then edcr continues to qualify with ease, get over his nerves, and win, and win, and win. and steez... doesn't. steez beat edcr once. why can't he do it again? it was an upset, yes; but was it a fluke? was that his one chance in the spotlight? will he ever get it back?
edcr is the darkest thing in any room, yet the world seems to shine itself brighter just for him. meanwhile steez, even with his skin full of color, fades back into the shadows. forever chasing the light edcr lives in.
I recently got myself a collar and seeing as they're one of the most beloved trope in the whump community, I decided to compile some of my findings on what it's like to wear one irl

Just getting grabbed by your collar from behind chokes you, let alone getting pulled back by it. Yes I tested it.
This is not the case from the front however. If anything, it helps alleviate the pressure from around your throat and makes breathing easier.
I wear mine buckled to the third notch for a snug fit, which is rather comfortable. I can still tighten it by one more but then it gets hard to breathe, and one more would be physically impossible.
When it's too tight, you can feel your pulse in your neck where the collar touches the skin.
It's not just the metal parts that are cold to the touch, but the leather as well. It warms up very quickly though!
It's only uncomfortable if the buckle sits right over your throat. It doesn't have to be tight for it to bother me, so I usually shift it a little to the side.
Sleeping in a collar isn't as uncomfortable as you'd imagine. You can even forget it's there after a while
Looking up or down makes your neck strain, and makes the collar feel tighter than it actually is.
