I realized that Snape was kind. Not nice, but kind. Nice isn’t kind. It’s about saying and acting. Other people prefer nice people. Because being kind doesn’t mean you will act nice. Smile, saying things other likes and want to hear. Snape saved people, Snape sacrificed himself for others. Snape cared. Snape worked and tried. He buried his own life. And that’s kind. Snape wasn’t nice. He didn’t smile to others. He didn’t say nice things. He didn’t pretend to be lovely. And Snape is mostly hated.

It’s a good example of humanity. They prefer nice over good and kind.

Sometimes I think about Harry going from the Dursleys, a family that wanted nothing to do with him, to the Weasleys, a family who accepted him as one of their own without question.

Or I think about Harry going from Dudley's hand-me-downs, impersonal and ill-fitting, to being gifted a homemade sweater by his best friend's mother with the first letter of his name sewn on it.

Or I think about Harry going from sleeping in a cold, dusty cupboard, isolated and alone, to spending his summers at the Burrow, warmed by heating charms and lit fireplaces, so on top of each other that no matter how far apart they fall asleep, he still wakes up with Ron's foot touching his leg.

I just think about Harry being a Weasley. That's all.
