❝ yes ― I spent most of my money on new clothes and makeup. no i did not really need them but, they’re beautiful and the damage is done so ❞
“if you ask me, it sounds like money well spent.”
bambi .
a sigh slips past intoxicated lips, it was far too early for bambi to be as liquored up as she was , however , it wasn’t anything new at this point. the days blended together for the brunette - ever since she lost her parents… the mornings were headaches, the afternoons were vibrant, warm, dizzy - - but the nights? she’d never remember. then repeat. it was how she coped.
here she was, walking down the streets of LA , all but stumbling out of a dimly lit bar at 12:30. the artist’s eyes lock with a familiar face, “ hey- - hey, can you believe that shit hole,” she points back to the bar, “had the balls to cut me off??”
the overwhelming smell of alcohol on the other girls’ breath made indica’s stomach turn. it reminded her of the many times her father had been caught wandering after being thrown out of a bar much like the situation bambi has found herself in right now. “bambi...” indica’s tone is soft, she hopes she can tell this is coming from a loving place. “maybe you may have overdone it a tad?” a pause. “we should get you home, you need to rest.”
moe .
“so…” moe started, reeling through what to talk about, "has anyone seen Pitbull recently? is he okay? has he drank water today?“ she chuckled. "Mr. Worldwide, I miss you.”
“pitbull?” a puzzled look has formed on her face. “too be completely honest with you...” a pause. “m’not really sure what or who you’re talking about.” she feels bad, she wants to help. “is that your dog or something?”
elvira .
“it’s not creepy if they do it right,” she said. elvira should have told her sister what was really going on forever ago. when she first found out. but she didn’t want to worry her and she didn’t want her to feel like she needed to be her mom — not when they both had the other kids to worry about. once the paper towels were in her reach, she pulled a few off and did her best to contain the bleeding, but with as heavily as she was bleeding, one could have thought someone ruptured a vein. “i know it’s a lot, but there’s nothing i can do about it, it comes and goes,” she said as she let the paper towel drop into the sink and grabbed another handful.
“if you say so.” she gives in, she doesn’t want to necessarily continue on about a rugrats show. indica’s not really sure if her sister is being truthful or just telling her what she wants to hear but nevertheless she doesn’t feel like arguing she just smiles and nods, an approach that’s worked thusfar so she has no plans to change it at this moment. “well is there anything i can do to help you feel comfortable while we wait for it to pass?”
madison .
olivia can barely handle kids as they are ; munchkins and monsters and all that, and yet —- they’re still kinda cute, in a chubby kinda way. "from all that? yeah, i agree with that sentiment.“
“well enough about me.” a pause. “i hope your day is going better than mine, yeah?”
hazel .
“oh wow. that definitely sounds like quite the adventure.” she shook her head. “I don’t think your dream is that far off– you eventually got the baby taken care of and everything cleaned so, that counts for something, I think.” she nodded her head. “how old is she?”
adventure? indica didn’t know if she’d call it that, but it sure did give her quite the scare. she figured if she survived that she’d pretty much be considered a pro now. “yeah, i kinda froze for a quick second in the beginning when i first saw what was happening but then i like went on auto pilot it was so weird.” she laughs. “she’s two.”
t w i n ,
“they literally can, have you never seen a baby in a show or a movie? actors,” she said. “where are the paper towels? i’m bleeding too fast to look,” she said. “god, please stop…” she whispered to herself as she leaned over the sink so she wasn’t dripping all over the place.
ditzy. sometimes indica could be what others might consider ditzy. “well whatever, babies can’t talk so it’s like weird animated baby mouth’s.” her train of thought concerning this rugrats live action coming to a halt when she realized the bleeding was a little bit more problematic than she’d first estimated. “oh no.” she whispered. searching the counter tops for paper towels. “here!” she rushes the roll of paper towels she spotted from across the room over to her sister. “are you sure this is normal?” she doesn’t want to pry. “....this is a lot of blood e.”
o l i v i a ,
olivia never would’ve found herself doing these kinds of things – mostly because kids are gross and she never wants to be near with, even with a ten foot pole. her own siblings were pushing it, and not in the best way. "i think she was crying 'cause you were panicking,“ from what she does know about babies – they’re smart like that. they pick up energy.
she giggles. “we were all good after i figured out my plan on how i was going to clean it.” she lets out a sigh of relief. she’s surprised she held her lunch down. she doesn’t do well in the bodily fluids department. “i’ve had a hell of a weekend, i deserve like three smoothies.”
TWIN .
“why would grown-ups play the babies? it would be babies, obviously. like that movie, baby geniuses,” she said. as she hurried herself to get it taken care of before it became a bigger mess than it already was, the kitchen was closer than the bathroom so she made a beeline to the sink and grabbed some paper towels to hold to her nose. “i’m fine, it’s normal. it’s just a… side effect. symptom. whatever you wanna call it.”
“I dunno.” she shrugs. “because babies can’t be actors so like my brain just automatically thought adults.” she sees how her initial logic was flawed. “oh ew. even weirder, or just as weird as the adults thing. baby geniuses creeps me out.” a shudder. she wants to believe her. she lets out a small sigh. “ok...do you need help?”
OLIVIA .
her nose scrunches up in disgust — she wasn’t a kid person in the slightest, nor did she ever really think she’d become was. olivia was still a kid in most aspects besides a few. "i think you just solidified me never having any rugrats.“ as if she hadn’t been saying that since she was 13. "i swear, that’s the grossest thing ever. at least it was like, a baby, right? doesn’t know any better.”
indica laughs. she’s glad she can find humor in moments like these. “it was pretty gross yeah, i won’t lie.” she shakes her head. “almost threw up a few times to be completely honest.” it was true. she ended up being able to keep it together or down...thank god. “yeah, yeah. that’s why i’m so like chill about it, because she didn’t know any better poor thing, she was crying more than me.” she jokes.
ISLA .
to say that her words weren’t affecting isla would be more than an understatement— it was an outright lie. her stomach was already flip flopping at the thought of impending motherhood, and every mention made that even worse. but she tried to mask her feelings, instead doing her best not to link her own personal feelings and dilemma with the conversation at hand. “ that… does not sound pleasant. at all. ” clearing her throat, she continued, “ i take it you’re not going to be as open to watching her again? ” trying to make light of the situation, a brief chuckle followed.
indica smiles. the sane thing to do would be what isla is describing. never babysit the messy little one ever again. but she couldn’t. she was too much of a softie to let one bad experience ruin it for her. besides, she was a baby. that’s what baby’s did, she knew what she signed up for. “i mean, it wasn’t pleasant but i’d still babysit her, it’s not like she’s a demon child who did it on purpose, just a cute little baby who isn’t quite yet potty trained.” she laughs.
LORI .
“Sounds like you had yourself a heck of a time.” she half joked, silently thanking she hadn’t been home when the woman had clearly gone around the neighborhood looking for a sitter. “If anything it just shows that we might have to have more young girls start babysitting again, if it can ward you away from it then it might make them a little more careful,” she added with a small shrug.
indica paused. as horrible as the situation was, she couldn’t help but laugh with lori. “oh yeah, it was the best two hours of my life.” pure sarcasm. “i dunno, i mean. yeah it was poop and it was gross, but i survived and i still love kiddos. i’l probably end up babysitting again, i just have to be dramatic about this first.”
“i love kids, but having any of my own is starting to seem farther and farther away in the future.” indica paused, giving context with her next sentence. “mrs. maddox from across the street asked me to keep watch of her little one today and let me just tell you, I had JUST finished changing her when she peed all over the towel I JUST washed, so I put her in the tub and guess what? poops all over the place, water and all.” indica’s face showed just how unpleasant the situation had been. “took my two hours to clean everything, had to re-wash the towel, and the baby.”
twinny.
at first, the tickle in her nose didn’t set off any alarms. she was just sitting, minding her own business. “all i’m saying… is that we need a live action rugrats,” she said, holding her hands up in defense. and then the tickle moved further, which made her scratch at her lip, thus realizing that she was bleeding. “shit,” she whispered. “i’ll be right back,” she said, immediately getting up, letting everything in her lap fall to the floor as she rushed out of the room.
indica scrunched her tiny nose up at her sister’s suggestion. “that would be so creepy el...like, literal grownups would be playing babies right? or like...would kids play the babies? that whole idea just sounds, yuck.” she shook her head with a laugh, a sudden drop of her things made a loud noise as her possessions struck the ground. indica looked alarmed, noticing the drop of blood running from her sister’s nose scared her, something was off. “el are you okay? w-what in the world happened? why is your nose bleeding..”
She wasn’t here! She was never fucking here!
