re your post about percy's eye colour matching the nearest body of water: i love the headcanon and the additions for each demigod sm, so i need to propose that percy canonically describes annabeths eyes taking different shades of grey and blue grey and grey green throughout the series. i need to compile a quote list of his descriptions, but from my recollection, he describes them as sea glass green to stormy grey to almost as dark as the night to sparkling bright grey. we need more annabeth eye colour appreciation on the dash <3

i’ve been trying to word how to describe annabeth/athena kids’ eyes but i can’t bc athena’s domains are so. abstract in a way. like how tf am i meant to convey wisdom into something physical with their eyes. i can see what i mean in my head but i have like no way to convey how to it ties to athena 💔 but yesss her eyes constantly shifting and swirling with different shades of grey. she was actually the one i was thinking of when i first created that post but it was easier to come up with stuff for other characters instead of her LOL

weaving. something about fabric? the grey of her eyes taking on the color of her clothes real faintly,, like it’s just a subtle shift in the hue to match her clothes. i might be thinking of this bc i was just talking to another mutual about the concept of athena as the goddess of weaving being really in tune with the fashion world LMAO

i want to tie it into the sky again because the only way i can describe what i’m seeing in my head in regards to the way her eyes would shift is by comparing it to storm clouds where they’re constantly churning and changing shades from a dark grey almost black before a storm to the bright white of the clouds on a sunny day.

or like an owl’s plume. wait hear me out. hear me tf out. athena kids eyes matching the plume of athene noctuas as in adolescence their feathers are grey and as they get older, they start to gain darker shades of brown until they’re fully grown and their plume is brown with white patterns. athena kids all having grey eyes because they’re so young and most demigod die young (+athena’s kids specifically tending to die on her special quest) so people have kinda forgotten that their eyes are supposed to grow darker as they get older.

btw this IS canon to me now. black!annabeth with bright grey eyes darkening into brown eyes as she grows older, spotted with the occasional grey from her childhood. thank you. i love the idea of her with both startling grey eyes but also pretty dark brown eyes and it’s always agony to settle on one. this way i can have the best of both worlds.
