gabriel was fully aware he had the busiest of all days starting the next morning ( press work, three hours of writing & editing sessions booked at a studio somewhere in london, interviews with a few internet bloggers, etc. ) but something about the fact that he hasnât seen indiana since new yearâs eve gave him a great deal of well, MISERY. he made sure he always spent sunday mornings with her, having breakfast at some coffee shop they discovered along the way or already know about, hot drinks on her, edibles on him ( it was their thing to achieve some sort of balance without harming gabrielâs chivalry or indianaâs independence â sike, the food always costs more. ), but one sunday goes missing and heâs a m e s s of stress and thoughts that go back to her and only her â thatâs why heâs sat waiting outside her residence, his car warm and parked right at the door. grinning, he dialed up her number, his feet bounced as he sat waiting for her voice on the other line.
â come outside. â was the first and only thing he said when she picked up, hanging up right after.
indiana was nestled within the comforts of her bed, inert yet awake. she mulled over the events of new yearâs eve, which were in fact, not indelible enough to reminisce about---she had stayed in her apartment alone, loitering in her balcony as she drank wine by herself & snapped stills of the vista, surrounded by the convivial air of the city. she couldnât help but wonder what eleanor was up to that night. drinking, perhaps; romy, too. & gabriel ? the mere thought of him made it arduous for her to fall asleep. the sole image of him & alessandra together on new yearâs made her feel vaguely perturbed. there was something about gabriel dating an eminent name she couldnât quite put her finger on, & it had discomfited her for days on end---
get down, get up again. come on, come on, move. get down, get up again. work it, do it overtime. the sudden chime of indianaâs phone pulled her from her train of thought. the ringtone was extremely familiar; it was, perchance, the one she had heard the most. her hand reached out to answer it, & as she did, the euphony that was gabrielâs voice was the first thing that transpierced her ear, immediately lifting her spirits.
â what ? â she briskly got onto her feet & approached her balconyâs door. peering through the glass, indiana espied the vehicle she was so accustomed to seeing and her lips instantaneously parted to form an exhilarated grin. â give me ten minutes. iâll be right there. â
the warmth of her digits proliferates against his chest. heâs crossing boundaries and breaking down walls his own fists once built. heâs sure itâs the alcohol. heâs kissing her skin. the alcohol. this isnât the gaiety of adolescent epigrams he was once so used to. isnât so sure what this is. figures maybe liquor BLURRED what once was. â come back with me. â his palms find purchase in the marrow of her hips. heâs clasping her own body closer to her own, if even possible. closer. always closer. his mouth breaths sin into her mocha flesh, counting on the facade of magnetism. â please. âÂ
all she could feel was warmth. an undeniable warmth emanating from his silhouette that made her pulse accelerate & the hairs of her skin rise. her breathing grew erratic as she got lost in impetuous introspection, mulling over innumerable thoughts racing about in the recesses of her skull---she was incarcerated by her own inclination, her own greed. it was all smoke & mirrors: the fallacy that her soma yearned for his touch, that her digits longed to caress his skin ever so gently, that her eyes wanted to peruse every facet of his character, that her mouth thirsted to discover what his lips would taste like---all enkindled by the mere heat of the moment. that, she told herself over & over. she wasnât intoxicated, but she affirmed to herself that it was solely the atmosphere; yet, dubiety silently lingered in the back of her mind. â aiakos. â she clenched her fingers into the folds of his shirt. â can you even hear yourself ? â
