â this isnât violence. â
â this is just a war in my head. â
â donât you try to run right now, cause baby i could burn you down. â
â you make your way into my veins, course right through my limbs and dig your way into my brain. â
â so when the second that you walk into a room, i canât help myself from the things that you do. â
â oh youâre killing me right now. â
â i think itâs time you burn me down. â
â i love the things we do, when itâs just me and you. â
â youâre just a ghost of blissful feelings, a cloud of smoke that i keep breathing. â
â iâm losing you to the games in my mind. â
â donât wanna open my eyes. â
â i know itâs chemicals, that make me cling to you. â
â and i need a miracle to get away from you. â
â and iâm not spiritual but please stay, cause i think youâre a saint and i think youâre an angel. â
â you give me something to talk about, thatâs not the shit in my head. â
â youâre a miracle. â
â take in your chemicals. â
â i gotta stay with you. â
â and iâm not spiritual but please stay, cause youâre a glimpse of bliss a little taste of heaven. â
â you give me something to think about, thatâs not the shit in my head. â
â i need a miracle to bring me back to you. â
â i know youâre gone now but i still wait for you. â
â who let you in? â
â you walk around like you own the place. â
â guess it was all my fault, i think i let you in. â
â never thought that i would feel like this. â
â such a mess when iâm in your presence, iâve had enough think youâve been making me sick, gotta get you outta my system. â
â itâs my house, and i think itâs time to get out. â
â itâs my soul, it isnât yours anymore. â
â but darling you canât stay. â
â havenât you heard? iâm not yours anymore. â
â yeah youâve got it all, but youâve got it all wrong. â
â youâre a poor unfortunate soul. â
â oh i know, you make it seem that you feel whole. so they donât know, youâre a poor unfortunate soul. â
â yeah you put on a faith facade, think youâre holy when youâre not. â
â i hate to break it to you baby, but youâre simply lost. â
â but simply calling out sins donât bring you closer to god. â
â youâre just a ghost at most, a set of empty bones. â
â oh youâre all alone. â
â and you say that iâve got it all wrong. â
â cause you just know, iâm a poor unfortunate soul. â
â youâre shallow and empty and filled with regret. â
â i think that chest must be heavy from that cross on your neck. â
â donât think i didnât notice. â
â itâs hard to be what you need through a static screen. â
â iâm watching. iâm waiting. iâm aching. suffocating. iâm breathing. iâm speaking. can you hear me? iâm screaming, for you. â
â day by day, iâm slowly replaced in your picture frames. â
â sick of the lack of signal. sick of the lack of touch. â
â can you hear me? â
â donât blame your death, on the shit in your head that you claimed ate you like a virus for days on end. â
â i watched you decay, watched you wast away. â
â whoâd you think youâd fool baby? â
â so go ahead, yeah just drop dead. â
â youâre out of line, buried yourself alive an expected to be fine. â
â your bridges are burning, and all the tables are turning. â
â what you give is what you get, and in your case thatâs nothing but guilt and regret. â
â i canât sleep, thatâs when youâre torn away from me. â
â iâll face my fear of the sunrise, when i wake up with your hand inside mine. â
â itâs hard to say good morning, when itâs followed with goodbye. â
â you make my world spin. â
â iâll wait to see you again. â
â i know youâre dead inside, but you make me feel alive. â
â iâm the one with the ghosts in my bed, but they only come alive at night. â
â i swear that iâll be fine in the daylight. â
â itâs my head not my heart thatâs strayed. â
â iâm sorry i keep pushing you away. â
â why canât you stay, up against these things i canât see? â
â make me believe. â
â now youâre up against the ghosts in my head. â
â you struck a match, and left me to burn. â
â it doesnât feel right, to feel the weight of your world in my spine. â
â youâve had me going, out of my mind. â
â i wanna feel something, thatâs not the touch of your breath on my neck. â
â i shouldnât give in, but i let you win, i let you in. â
â i wonât let you in. â
Donovan wasnât sure what was going to happen now. Usually he would just seduce his victim into bed, have sex with them then feed on them and leave them dead. But since that wasnât the plan here with this girl then he had to do this differently. So far it seemed to be going well. He had her on the hook. He just had to reel her in and secure her as his. âMaybe I can show you around town sometime,â he offered. âMaybe grab a drink or a bite to eat.â Yes, thatâs what normal people did together right?
A guy who seemingly had other plans than to just get her hammered and in bed? It was a pleasant surprise, and something Moira couldnât just dismiss.
âWell, when do you want to go?â Despite Moiraâs attempts of acting as though this was something she was asked all the time, she reminded herself of a teenager whoâs just been asked to go on a date for the first time. At this point she just hoped she didnât seem completely pathetic, and if she did, she could only pray he found it somewhat charming.Â
he breathes forth an inaudible sigh before a polite nod leads him through the threshold, holding out his hand to greet her properly. â itâs that obvious huh? â ( in reality, freddy knew that even when he was wearing that phony wedding ring, he reeked of bachelor ) but that was irrelevant. â well fortunately i ainât doing too bad â thought iâd upgrade. â a pause, finally meeting the maidâs eye. â so what do i call you? â
With a half smirk, Moira gently gripped his hand and shook it. âYou can call me Moira.â Not long after the maid had introduced herself did she let go of his hand and motioned for him to follow her. âSo..upgrade? I take it you donât know much about this house then. Coming here isnât much of an upgrade to anything -- unless you take into account that I come with the house, of course.âÂ

âSee, and THIS is where we differ, darling- your method of temptation has some sort of moral to it, at the end of the day. I just need something to DISTRACT myself from the banalities of eternity.â And from his own heartache; not that he will ever verbally admit to that. âBut he is an ADDICT, and trust me when I say I have a uniquely keen insight into how addiction works. He may not normally take an interest in MEN, but I have no doubt that can be changed.â
A chuckle passed Moiraâs rosy lips. âPlease, he would never. Ben is too proud to bend over for a guy, and we both know heâs been fantasising about this body ever since he first saw me. And after all, Iâm technically doing a good deed, youâre just looking to screw married men for the hell of it.â Her lips curled up into a smug smile. âBut if this is some kind of competition then fine, Iâm in. Only one question,  what does the winner get?â
If she didnât already have his attention, the mention of Room 64 certainly made him listen. His first thought was naturally that his collection had been interfered with â but accessing it wasnât so simple a mere maid could do it. Any alarm compromising his expression was replaced by irritation.
âDespite attempts to reinvent this place as a respectable environment, you should expect unpleasant scenes left behind by hopped-up addicts frequenting this hotel. It is scarcely MY concern.â James stressed the point with a dismissive swipe of his hand â only to raise a brow as he reconsidered. âUnless you mean to say youâve stumbled upon something more⌠interesting.â
âI donât think addicts were responsible for that.â There was a pause. She almost debated whether to continue or not, for all she knew Mr. March would simply dismiss it and tell Moira to go clean it up -- sheâd never cleaned something like that before, she wasnât sure how to make those kind of stains go away; and how she dreaded the possibility of having to ask.Â
âThereâs blood. Everywhere.â And she certainly meant everywhere. It was like something out of a horror film, like something straight out of Hitchcockâs twisted mind. The floor, walls, furniture...All painted a crimson red.Â

He drops the jacket back into place, obscuring the wound. âI am going to give you the benefit of the DOUBT on that one and just confirm what you already know- yes. It is real. I told you, my wife SHOT me. At very close range with a very big shotgun.â
âOh my god.â That was the only thing she could think of saying. Moira had never been much of a believer in anything really, but here she stood. Face to face with a dead man. â...Why can I see you? Would Constance and Hugo be able to? Do they already know about you?â So many questions, but it was all she could do; ask.Â
@indxctricis
Perhaps this was now the fashion, James thought â but heâd never permit Miss Evers to wear something so indecent. The new maid certainly knew how to make an impression, and while heâd usually appreciate women in uniforms agreeable to look at, it potentially endangered the hotelâs recent attempts to seem less morally bankrupt, more family friendly. Such was the way Los Angeles had gone in the last century, he supposed, andâŚ
âŚand he withdrew from his thoughts, remembering there was probably a reason sheâd approached him. Simply staring at her wasnât good business practice. âWere you saying something?â
Moira was used to people staring; men, women, she was used to it all. The maid was very aware her outfit did half the job, she rarely minded; Hell, sometimes she even went out of her way to have eyes locked on her. To leave people nearly begging for a taste of the woman. Yet, something had her skin crawl just now. Moira couldnât quite put her finger on what it was, maybe she should simply brush it off as a reaction to what she just witnessed. The blood -- All that blood.Â
âI think something has happened in room 64. I thought about just cleaning it, but I figured you might want to have a look.â
heâd been minding his own business, headphones  in, music  playing  from the ipod that violet had left him with. of course, his go to band was nirvana. it amazed him that he could listen to their albums whenever he wanted,  he felt old already (although heâd be forever young). feet up, he tapped his  leg repeatedly with his hand, in time to the music.
moments later moira entered the room; sometimes she was young, wearing that seductive maid outfit that caused menâs knees  to  buckle.  not  him,  it never really got to him. maids werenât his thing.Â
â you know, you donât actually have to do your job. youâre D E A D. â
âWhat would you suggest? Sitting around and listen to you complain about how terrible your afterlife is?âÂ
Moira nonchalantly tapped her duster against her leg. She didnât appear young in order to seduce the teen. No, he reminded her far too much of his parents -- that psychotic woman and the deadbeat pervert - Yes. He was exactly like his parents.Â
âAnd if I donât clean, who will? You?â She didnât bother giving him the time to respond. âNo. Like a true teenager, you enjoy making a mess far more than you enjoy cleaning it. I mean, I canât recall ever seeing you burying any bodies or cleaning up any blood.â
