i think one of the reasons that heated rivalry has been so successful is because everyone involved with it is so fucking proud of what they created. like there’s zero embarrassment or shame about how sexual it is or how queer it is and it’s just such a breath of fresh air

Also anyone who says, “oh it doesn’t have to be accurate to the book” what’s the point in having an adaptation if someone wanted to make a slutty historical romance I’m sure there would be no complaints.

Don’t even get me started on the costumes. Are they beautiful? Yes absolutely but oh my god again what’s the point if you do an adaptation without actually keeping few things original.

Many classics have been adapted in to film for a modern setting. Most notably Romeo and Juliet (in film and theatre) and they did it really well due to the immersive setting and dress because they fully committed. Not just putting Margot Robbie In half latex dress because they didn’t want historical accuracy but keeping the lines similar?!
