i genuinely don't consider rhaenyra getting her period in that episode to be misogynist or that it shows her to become a hysterical woman because of it. i think it's just an acknowledgement of yet another situation rhaenyra finds herself in where she's trying to hold a traditionally masculine position and feels betrayed by the physical reminder that she wasn't born a man, similarly to the scene in season 1 where she goes into premature labor while all the men in her council are discussing plans for war without her. the reality of being someone who menstruates is that it can happen at inconvenient times when you're trying to do something important!

I really liked the scene between Daemon and Rhaena because it shows that Daemon has clearly been an emotionally absent father to his daughters, especially to Rhaena, yet he still loves and cares about her which puts him in a difficult position between his daughter and his wife/queen. I feel for Rhaena, she wanted to help and do something for her family but it all backfired on her and now whatever happens she’ll still lose :(

I think this plot is very interesting and good way to keep developing their characters, and hopefully a relationship between Daemon and Rhaena (also hopefully something with Baela in the future)

The way that Daemons voice gets all high and light when talking to her and he openly shows his concern (practically panic) for the situation. Like i know hes meant to be an unfocused father but it seems like his kid being in the middle of a knot like this focuses him and you can see the wheels turning about how to resolve things.

I think this might be how they’re doing the nettles storyline, like the character of nettles will be created by Daemon as a way to keep Rhaena safe and bring her into the fold? I believe that Rhaenyra might not recognize her in her altered state, but obviously Baela would still be a problem- perhaps she will be in on it. Just a theory but it could be interesting, along the lines of “Laenor lived” and the other small ways that the histories are unreliable.
