Something else I like about the Boomverse is that there hasn’t been an attempt to sexualize Buffy and the Scoobies in any way - they’re sixteen years old and weird and awkward and emotional and not great with feelings despite surface appearances - but they’re teenagers who aren’t trapped in the traditional Western media vaseline covered gaze of Super Sexy Teenagers ™ who….solve mysteries, commit crimes, go to sex parties, summon the devil, etc, etc. (I’m coming for your whole life, Roberto) or reside solely in trauma town either (population teen suicide, pregnancy, gun violence, economic disparity).

“I’m gonna miss you, mom.”
“Not as much as I’m gonna miss you.”
