far away is where i want to be
This may be a difficult thing to see right now; this may be an impossible thing to envision, but itās something you need to internalize. Donāt give up on yourself, okay?Ā
#mood for this year
Sex without feelings or passion is trash and I donāt want it
For whatever youāve done or whoever youāve been in your past, you are here now. Forgive yourself for anything and everything. Itās the first step in healing. If you forgive yourself, you will be okay.
Sometimes I feel like Iām only meant for myself
i want to feel like home to someone
Growing up in an abusive household is a fucking trip dudeā¦ā¦If youāve never had someone angrily wash a dish at you or fold a sock in your direction then how are you gonna understand why I get nervous when you quietly do the laundry, or why I ask āare you mad at me?ā when you set the bag of groceries down too hard? Itās a totally different way of living and it impacts you long after youāve left the situation.
This is so important.
Abused kids speak a language you canāt learn
Iāll never forget the people who threw a fit about this post because they didnāt understand the anxiety when someone just seems angry while in your proximity
If you have a change in your behavior, Iām picking that up right away. Itās what Iāve had to adapt to doing, itās my survival. I will ask you if you are angry, if something is wrong, etc. If you donāt want to talk about it, I understand. But donāt lie to me and tell me nothing is wrong when Iāve sensed that there is.
Thereās a lot of stuff we donāt talk about.
Thereās a lot of nonverbal communication that we pick up on.
It fucks with me.
āš» Itās a very different way to see the world.
Yep, it will fuck you right up. The reason I canāt clean infront of other people. If you didnāt do it right, you got slapped and dragged down the hallway by your hairā¦and not in a good wayā¦
Every. Word.
Every. Action.
I learned. I watched. I adapted.
I canāt verbally talk about a lot of things because of this type of treatment. Todayās bad dialogue was a product of that abuse.
Today I spoke up, with shaking hands and even more shaky voice. It was scary as fuck and really difficult. Thankfully, the people I confided in were compassionate and listened. They let me get the worst of the storm out of my head so I could continue forward with my day.
Take time to listen to someone, please. Try to understand the people you love. You may not be aware of the war inside their head. Compassion is the greatest gift I feel I can give.
If you need someone to hear your story and your feelings without judgement, I will listen. I will hear you and respect your experience. Send me an anon ask, I will keep it private if you need me to do so. I will not out or dismiss you.
If not me, please seek someone you trust. Be heard. Be understood.
So much truth.
Absolutely trueš»šš
Teamwork makes the dream work⦠weāre all here to help one another!!!
Iām 43, and still trying to unlearn coping mechanisms ingrained from childhood abuse and neglect.
Getting over you is the hardest thing I have ever had to do...
important!
For whatever youāve done or whoever youāve been in your past, you are here now. Forgive yourself for anything and everything. Itās the first step in healing. If you forgive yourself, you will be okay.
