MAJOR spoilers for the movie

Though I would be surprised if you're on Tumblr and haven't watched the movie

One of my favorite scenes not just in the movie but also in all the movies I've seen is when Charlie Dalton wakes up Todd and tells him about Neil's death. They all knew he was the more sensitive and shy type. And then he runs outside into the snow and looks at how beautiful everything is.... his friends follow him to give him comfort.To help each other in that miserable time.

To me it looked as if Todd was begging the sky, looking for traces of hope. But there was nothing.

Todd's reaction really shows his feelings and the nature of their relationship.

I think Matthias Helvar's death makes so much sense.

At first I thought that it was so pointless. To kill someone off who had gone through so much character development only to be shot by a teenage boy. But then I thought about how realistic it is. You see these boys who was taught to hate Grisha, were told to repress their emotions, came from a place where women were held down.

One of them had a chance to grow, fall in love and unlearn the things that were taught to him. And on top of that made plans to help others.The other represents his past self, to put it in Inej's term's his shadow. And no matter how much he has improved as a person, it doesn't change the sins of the past.

Call it Karma.

Call it the cycle of hate.

Call it bleak and pointless.

It will always remain the end of Matthais's story.
