âIntern or not, everyone has to start somewhere. One day you might be in one of those fancy chairs in those high up offices with a skyline view. By then you could afford my dry cleanerâs bill,â she joked further before pushing a strand of hair out of her face, noticing the walking stick only now to figure the man before him was indeed limited to the power of sight. âIf it makes you feel better, youâre a somebody to me Jaehyuk-ssi. But yes, weâre getting along just fine as of now.â
Slinging her arm around his, patting the material of his blazer lightly; still offering a smile nevertheless. âI was suppose to pick up a file for my boss but Iâve been waiting for a while for it. So maybe I could go to that floor to get someone who could help me with it rather than waiting till the receptionist calls upon me.â
"Anything is possible, who knows. If that happens I'll sleep on your shoulder," he shrugged, even though it's obvious there's no enthusiasm in the prospect of being promoted. This wasn't the kind of place Jaehyuk wanted to work for. The money was a perk, sure. He liked the idea of always making sure he had food on the table and didn't have to resort to the breakroom food for a meal. But he wanted to be a lawyer to help people, this place only cared about the money and it would step on the small people to get it. His head tilted at Junhee's last words. 'As of now'? He didn't bring it up. "You're very kind," he nodded politely.
He nodded at the request, he wondered why the receptionists were dawdling with such a task. Maybe this woman worked for another firm and this was a tactic in the game of chess. Law was very layered and could be rather dark. "Which floor would that be?" he asked as he guided her to the elevators. "I do have some pull around here."
