Make your days a near-death experience.
The void in the deity is the deity in the void.
I Saw a Man
I saw a man pursuing the horizon; Round and round they sped. I was disturbed at this; I accosted the man. "It is futile," I said, "You can never -- " "You lie," he cried, And ran on.
-Stephen Crane
Before me, eternal things were made, and I shall last eternally
Dante Alighieri, Inferno
múm - Ghosts You Draw on My Back (Summer Make Good, 2004)
The wind plays flute Through the cellar door And on my window sill Plays a sad old song I hope tonight You will touch my hair And draw ghosts on my back Walk the shore Too impassable Shout at screaming waves Shout at silent rocks I think tonight I'll dream of salty tongues So tears drip down my legs The wind plays song Through the cellar door And on my window sill Plays a sad old song I hope tonight You will touch my hair And draw ghosts on my back
Art is capable of lying (Art is a lie).
Art is a limited perspective. The painting tells only what the painter wishes to show. The photograph tells only what the camera can see (what the photographer wishes it to see). The art performance artist performs only what he wants people to see. Art is therefore a lie. The viewer looks upon it to envision a reality. In reality, Art is the vision of a single person that other people find intriguing. Art causes a reaction. To see Art and to admire it is to initially not understand it. If you see a work of Art you understand you are quick to find another. If you see a work of Art that you do not understand, that comes into conflict with your beliefs, or that you disagree with, you are quick to throw it away, to disregard it. The intelligent struggle with it, try to understand it, try to understand how it is different (to what degree it is different) and why it is different. People who reject new art either do not understand it and are not willing to take the time to understand it, or they are extremely adept in that they realize this new art is not art, but grossness, an affront.
Art is beautiful.
Art is not reality (Art is a lie).
Art may be hung on the living room wall. (Art must be something you would want on your living room wall)

Heat cannot be separated from fire, or beauty from the eternal

Console - My Dog Eats Beats ("Rocket in the Pocket," 1998)
A form constant is one of several types of geometric pattern which is repeatedly observed during hallucinations and altered states of consciousness, which refer to any states significantly different from a normal beta wave state. In 1926, Henry Klüver studied the effects of mescaline on users' hallucinations and classified four specific types: lattices, cobwebs, tunnels, and spirals.
I must be willing to give up what I am in order to become what I will be
Albert Einstein
Tsar Bomba is the nickname for the largest nuclear weapon ever detonated. The AN602 hydrogen bomb is also known in Russian as Kuz'kina Mat' (Kuzka's Mother). Kuzka's Mother is an idiomatic expression in Russian; to "show someone Kuzka's mother" means to teach one a lesson, or to punish in a brutal way. The Tsar Bomba was detonated at 11:32 on October 30, 1961 north of the Arctic Circle. The fireball reached nearly as high as the altitude of the release plane and was seen over 600 miles away from ground zero. The resulting mushroom cloud was about 40 miles high (almost seven times the height of Mount Everest). The cloud's base was 25 miles wide. The energy yield registered at approximately 7.1 on the Richter scale. Heat from the explosion could have caused third-degree burns 62 miles away from the detonation site.
