"Let's just hope he see's it that way."

"As long as I don't have to do  it."

“You’re my escort to the pageant, it’s not that big of a deal. I walk down the stairs to you and then we dance, and after I win we stand on the float together. I don’t really think Matt would be all that interested anyway..”

"probably not but i'm sure when he finds out it'll piss him off."

“Well my grandmother won and so did both of my aunts, so I think I have a good chance.”

"How do you think Matt is going to feel about this?"

“How much glitter am I allowed to put on the poster?”

"As much as you want, as long as I'm guaranteed a winning date."

“I mean, I can.”

"I wouldn't be opposed to it."

"So are you gonna go all out and reask me? Promposal style.”

“Yes, awhile.” He cared very little if he confused the young man with his words. It wasn’t like it mattered, or that even a vampire-hunting society would be at his throat for such a comment. The name Lockwood, however, caught his attention. “Jesse.” He slowly raised his hand for the other to shake. So he was a local, and a part of the founding families, as well. “Helps that I was barely three feet tall when we left Mystic Falls,” the vampire lied coolly. 

Tyler took the man he now knew as Jesse's hand and gave it a firm shake before discarding, a friendly smile (for tyler) present. "Nice to meet you, and yeah I wouldn't be too upset about it, you've missed nothing but founders parties and drunken fights at the grill. Not a lot happens here. If you don’t mind me asking why have you come back? Nobody misses Mystic Falls."

“You could say that,” he said with a nod. “I used to live here, a long time ago. A lot’s changed and it’s taking me some time to find my footing.”

Tyler had grown up in Mystic Falls, he had been here since birth, and he doesn't recall ever meeting the man, which was odd considering they seemed to be around the same age, and in a town like this everyone knew everybody. "Huh. Things have changed a little bit, but not quite. It must've been awhile since you were last here. I'm Tyler, Tyler Lockwood."

He didn’t recognize the name. Maybe that meant the town wasn’t all aware?  He was an able-bodied young man – if there was going to be a repeat of eighteen-sixty-four, he’d be in on it, right?  “It’s not that important. Thank you though.”

"No problem," Tyler replied as he took in the appearance of the stranger, "I don't recognize you, are you new to town?"

“I’ve had my speech prepared since I was eight, of course I’m going to win.”

"Then you've got yourself a date."

“Do you know where one would purchase vervain in this town?”

“I don’t really cook. Maybe try a store?”

“ I haven`t killed anybody in - too long. ”

"Am I seriously supposed to ignore that?"

“I was wondering if you would help me out with something.”

"Sure thing, but if it involves anything requiring more than minimal effort then well, you're better off asking someone else."

“Well, I died, obviously.” Bonnie sighed as she looked to Tyler, still getting used to saying that out loud. “Grams did something to save me, but clearly she didn’t do the same thing for herself.” she explained quietly, not about to cry yet again about something she couldn’t change, at least not in front of him. “The point is I’m back now, and that’s what matters.”

Tyler was experiencing a whirlwind of emotions, confusion, happiness, and sadness all at once, “i don’t understand.” He understood that she had died and it was almost all he understood. People didn’t just come back from the dead, not like this. “Who else knows Bonnie.”
