Hey! Just letting you know that it's okay if you aren't the same as you are in source.
It's okay if you don't have all your source memories. It's okay if you pick a different name. It's okay if you look a bit different or act differently than how you do in source.
And it's okay if you're super similar to your source or are basically a replica.
Just be yourself, you are beautiful and deserve to express yourself freely. Love yourself and the person you've become.
Shout out to fictives who feel uncomfortable and exposed by the fact that their sources exist as public media that anybody gets to see. The fact that anyone can just pull it up and see all of your history and traumas and mistakes, without your say or even knowledge. The fictives who don't even feel they're allowed to be upset about it because it's "just fiction" and therefore doesn't matter. Who feel like less than "real people" because of it.

i want to begin a conversation. let's start a list of the ways that fictives are, for lack of a better word, regularly dehumanized:
the fear of getting into any media because you might split a fictive
being used as a trophy to show how much someone liked a media
being spoken to like we're characters without permission
being held accountable for source actions
being shamed for being introjected ("why did it have to be THAT character?"); being shamed for being fictive-heavy
trans and otherwise not-the-same-gender-as-source fictives being misgendered because of the assumption that they must be the same gender as source; being called "a trans [character name]"
the assumption that we're all exactly the same personality as source
feel free to add on, i know i've missed a world of bulletpoints i could make
not a callout on anyone, we're guilty of all of this too. just bringing attention to some things i've noticed that we should probably stop.

Don't go up to fictives, especially if they're of popular characters from the source they're from, and expect them to be in a relationship with the really popular ship the fandom ships them with.
It's really creepy and invasive. Fictives are people, not irl characters you can interview and project on.
