UST @ 500! The Neo-Centennial Celebration from my Point of View.
The UST Main Bldg/ (c) Paul Allyson Quiambao :)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jan 27, 2011. That was the day UST celebrated it's foundation day along with the 40,000 voices. To me, it was all just a fine, normal day. Or so I thought.
As usual, i was the early bird. NOT.
I was late again for my DESIGN class. YUPP! AGAIN. Nonetheless it was no biggie because my professor excused Me and Kyle for being late? Whaaat? Whyy? Oh well, the privileges of being a Pressy and Vice Pressy.
Just 5 minutes after I got inside my classroom, Kyle called me saying that the Dean's office is already requesting the presence of the President, Vice, and Treasurer. I was the only one available from the three so Kyle pleaded that I go. I agreed conditionally saying that he should come there too. Good thing I was with Denden, the treaurer of Section 8.
What were they requesting our presence for? Ohhyeehh... they were distributing the free shirts for the 40k voices already.
Convo with the Dean's office people:
Guy: So what do you need?
Me: uhh... they want the officers to come here right?
Guy: Oh. Ma'am, someone's here.
Ma'am Relos: Your class sent a girl? Where is the President and the Treasurer?
Me: uhh.. my president's coming already. i think.
Ma'am Relos: Oh, okay. Then im going to give the shirt to you already. Plus the songbook that you're gonna be using for the 40,000 voices.
50 shirts plus 50 songbooks:
I CAN'T CARRY IT ALL BACK TO THE 7TH FLOOR. Good thing Kyle arrived. I hated waiting.
When we got back to the classroom, people hoarded the XL size. Wtf. I mean the dean's office won't let us have our list back so we don't know which sizes are which. We just allowed our classmates to choose. First come first served basis! :)
-------------------------------------------------------------
So the assembly time for the said event is at 12nn. Ofcourse that was a lie because the 40k voices should and would start at 6pm. But Me, Kyle and Karla stayed there because we needed to distribute the shirt.
LONG STORY. SHORT SUMMARY: We were tired. Kyle needs to follow his design schedule, I don't have any effin' design yet (which is by the way due in 2 days), and Karla needed to take a break. Ang oh- Pav sucked. It was hot. People were bored.
SOLUTION: Kyle did his design crap in his room. Karla and Me chilled and "designed" @ Starbucks. Plan was to get back @ 4pm.
Yep. Everyone was frickin' studying!
MEANWHILE... ME AND KARLA:
------------------------------------------------------------------
3 hours after brainstorming with MYSELF and eating a piece of Starbucks chocolate donut, my design perspectives are ready. Good thing I had my laptop with me so I Sketchup-ed everything. Unfortunately, I don't know how to f'n do a cone in sketchup. YEP I KNOW. LAMEEE-O. Good thing Mike Guico, a 4th year student who's running for the Architecture student was there to help me. YES. VOTE HIM PLEASE!
----------------------------------------------------------------
After 4 hours, Kyle f'n wanted to extend up to 5pm so we waited for another hour. SHIT I HATE WAITING! Then 5pm came and finally we're set.
LOL. Funny thing is that we required our classmates to go but us ourselves didn't. I mean... we were just there with Cielo, Carlo Sta. Cruz, Ger, Van and Hannah.
LOL. BUT IENJOYED! :) PROOF:
damn after having a laugh with Gloc-9's Rap and the freshmen who were dancing with the rap, Side A played. As in... WTF!! FOREVERMORE! PLEASE PLAY IT! I kept on insisting that we stay 5 minutes more but kyle frikin' needs to continue his design and I need to go home early 'cause im grounded. :(
While approaching the P.Noval gate, I pleaded that we stay for another 5 minutes just in case. But Karla and Kyle convinced me that Side A's not gonna play it cuz they played their last song already. I BELIEVED.
The next day... everyone was talking about how awesome side A played.
