Haunting Driftwood Sculptures By Japanese Artist Nagato Iwasaki
Nagato Iwasaki is one of those artists you don’t know much about. But his art talks for itself.
The Japan-based artist creates incredible driftwood sculptures. Each of his human-shaped figures can both mesmerize and scare you. The artist manages to create an uneasy feeling using nothing but wood and you can be sure, that if you’d stumble upon one of these sculptures at night, you’d go sleepless for days.

First go at pyrography. Pretty happy with how it turned out ☺ #pyrography #mandala #tattooartist #pyrographymandala #woodburning #cambridge #inkydan #vrt @victoriaroadtattoo
Zen meditation is plain and simple. There are no goals, no magic, no transcendental bullshit experiences, no spiritual meaning-strictly speaking. For when you look for any of these things, you are missing the entire point of your practice: to let go. When people are stressed they don’t need to know any bullshit about chakras, or mental pictures, or being one with the Universe or God, or any of that stuff. We just want peaceful sound of silence, so we have the ability for the mud of our fears and our attachments settle and see things clearly. Nothing has to be done; we must simply observe it pass. There’s a saying in Zen that says that real wisdom is not think about spirituality while peeling the potatoes, but merely peeling the potatoes.
