This is an old piece I started years ago but never finished. I decided that I wanted to finish it before the year ends despite some apprehension and trying to figure out how the fuck to paint water and waves. I watched 5 how to paint ocean videos and I still feel unsteady with every choice but I'm getting there. I also have a holiday market in 12 days and I feel like my brain is melting because she doesn't know what to do. But we'll figure it out. Plan is mini paintings, 4 new stickers, 1 new block print. 🤡🙏🏾

Real talk. 75 percent of my problems can be attributed to my unhealthy obsessions with perfection. Meeting deadlines, arriving early, looking a certain way, acting a certain way, wanting my art coming out a certain away, wanting my products to be a certain way, wanting my life to be a certain way. Its all super unreasonable but my brain obsesses over the fact that nothing i do meets this unreasonable ideal i have set for myself. So today my brain was blank and i was agonizing because fuck nothing i can think of is just right. Then my friend told me, "why not doodle?" And at first my brain was like doodle? Wtf i need to get something done i cant doodle i need to be perfect and get perfect pieces done. Perfect. Perfect. Perfect. After a while i was exhausted with myself. Exhausted with the constant war i have with myself in my mind. Took my stinky grape scented pen and just drew circles til circles became something. Until the screams shut up and i had purple grape smelling doodles. So here you go.
