Jessie Homer French (American, 1940) - Castle Mountains (2016)
Hades gives Orpheus a trial he knows he himself could never succeed at, but it isn’t just that Hades knows he would turn around. Hades has been failing this trial every single year. He shows up too early. He turns too soon. He is so full of doubt that even the natural order of the world, that Persephone will return to him, is not something he can trust. Hades would fail the trial he has given Orpheus, and he already has. All alone, his blood runs thin.
anyone ever thinks about how charles begged monaco to love him back after years of disasters at home but really when he ended up winning it wasn’t monaco showing him how loved he is but rather ferrari finally loving its favorite son back by being competent enough to allow him to take that long-awaited victory on a home soil that had always always loved him
Reblogging for @clwdc 's tag: #he should have asked ferrari to love him back really One the one hand, this would be expected to be more directly effective. The track didn't mishandle qualifying or spread COVID or move the wall at any point (which had caused the three non-victories up to that point). It was the one definitively innocent party in all this. Ferrari contributed to the wall strike removing Charles Leclerc's opportunity to race, and had also mishandled 2019 qualifying. But I think Monaco understood. This was the part of the Ferrari era where Charles Leclerc still thought that Mattia Binotto had a reasonable chance of taking Ferrari to the title in 2024, by sticking to the plan. He wasn't about to upset that by stressing out the Ferrari PR team or making anyone worry. We also know from later clues that Mattia's tolerance for other people being self-critical to the press was limited, so he couldn't publicly blame himself (at least, not now it was Sunday rather than Saturday). But the pain of losing an opportunity to even try for victory had to be released somewhere, and a track can store it safely as memories. Charles races better when he feels connected, feels loved, feels like there is a chance. Storing the memory gave more ways in which Charles and the circuit could understand each other, which itself increased Monaco's ability to show it that it loved him back. I have a theory however. Maybe its first act of love following this wasn't the gorgeous weather, perfect for a procession as integral part of a coronation, or granting Zhou Guanyu the insight to be careful through the Massenet collision in 2024 (which made Charles' lead slightly easier to defend on restart - not that he really needed the favour, but love is more than the bare minimum). Maybe its first act was 2022's weather conditions, to help Charles get rid of Mattia when he didn't quite see the advantages of doing so. It was early in the chain reaction of events that led to Mattia having to leave the organisation and Charles was frustrated by the turn of events, but perhaps love was doing its part there, too, by doing Charles the favour he might otherwise not have considered doing for himself in his self-sacrifice? I think Monaco was OK with being a bit annoying in order to love Charles better later.
people go on and on about loving the idea of devotion to the point of consumption and how love will swallow you whole and turn you into something that is equally starved and also wholly satisfied. but when I, charles marc herve perceval leclerc,
Now obviously the hard part of launching a land invasion of Heaven will figuring out where they hid the hole. Finding the miniscule aperture, the hole in physical reality to which all souls are translocated at the moment of death, and then jamming something sturdy in there, getting it in reallll good and working it around until it's big enough to fit some guys with guns through. But the nice part is that the nature of Heaven means that, one, not many people get in in the first place, and two, none of them are good at fighting, because people who're good at fighting mostly don't go to heaven. Except us, when we find the hole. The point is that once we're in there's not much they're gonna be able to do. Pretty much we'll have free run of the place

"but lavender isn't max also really-" I genuinely 100% believe if you put that man in any team and car other than red bull he would stick it in the barriers. Daniel 2.0. The emperor has no clothes and a hyper specific driving style.
THE EMPEROR HAS NO CLOTHES. THE EMPEROR HAS NO CLOTHES AND A HYPER SPECIFIC DRIVING STYLE THAT ONLY WORKS IN AN EXTREMELY SPECIFIC CAR.
