There rolls the deep where grew the tree. O earth, what changes hast thou seen! There where the long street roars, hath been The stillness of the central sea. The hills are shadows, and they flow From form to form, and nothing stands; They melt like mist, the solid lands, Like clouds they shape themselves and go. But in my spirit will I dwell, And dream my dream, and hold it true; For tho’ my lips may breathe adieu, I cannot think the thing farewell.
Alfred Lord Tennyson
If you inhale and hold it, you lose your breathe; if you exhale and hold it, your breathe comes back to you. The moral here is: Don't cling to life. Have you ever wandered why we feel most alive when stood face to face with death?

Ended my last cycle here but the wind and rain was so heavy I couldn’t stop to take any pictures.

Simon Whitehead aka ‘the guinea pig’ Taken with Nikon D800 + Nikkor 24-300mm f/3.5-5.6G VRII with 1x Elinchrom 500 Classic + 120x100mm Softbox; with a handmade cardboard modulator. With the aid of our Ikea cardboard packaging we are finally making some progress with lighting in the new studio. I managed to give some nice depth and masculinity to this photograph of Simon without using the traditional masculine lighting technique ‘the clam’. The cardboard modulator gave me more a direct light which kept it from bouncing off every single surface; almost like a beauty dish. The result is a nice balanced light that, as odd as it sounds, made Simon really look like Simon! I’ve got a young singer songwriter coming in tomorrow night for the photographs for their album cover so hopefully I can expand upon my uses of the cardboard box my new sofa came in.
