Peter Pan Appreciation → 3/?
He’s what I like to call a loophole.
❝ It’s very rude to stare! ❞
labyrinth sentence starters • a c c e p t i n g
‘ m’not S T A R I N G at nothin’ ! ‘ he s c o f f s at the very insinuation that he was doing such a thing. maybe he had been staring at the way she danced with the fairies. the boys certainly didn’t look like she did when she danced. they looked DUMB && CLUMSY. she was graceful && angelic. it was hard for him to not be distracted. [ did he know why he was distracted ? not a bit. ] he wouldn’t admit to STARING, though.
Lay down…

someone remind me to write up a headcanon about how peter ‘thins out’ the number of lost boys under a set of guidelines he made.
LABYRINTH → the sentence meme
Below you will find quotes taken directly or paraphrased from the movie 'Labyrinth'. You know, the one starring David Bowie's bulge. Send in one of the following to see how my muse reacts:
❝ I ask for so little. ❞
❝ Just let me rule you, and you can have everything that you want. ❞
❝ Just fear me, love me - do as I say and I will be your slave.❞
❝ You remind me of the babe. ❞
❝ That’s not fair! ❞
❝ Give me the child. ❞
❝ You say that so often, I wonder what your basis for comparison is? ❞
❝ I have been generous up ‘til now; I can be cruel. ❞
❝ You cowered before me, I was frightening. ❞
❝ I have reordered time; I have turned this world upside down, and I have done it all for you! ❞
❝ I am exhausted from living up to your expectations. ❞
❝ Isn’t that generous? ❞
❝ Your mother is a fraggin’ aardvark! ❞
❝ Everything I’ve done, I’ve done for you. ❞
❝ I move the stars for no one. ❞
❝ Your eyes can be so cruel. ❞
❝ If she ever kisses you, I’ll turn you into a prince. ❞
❝ If he ever kisses you, I’ll turn you into a princess. ❞
❝ You’re him, aren’t you? ❞
❝ You’re her, aren’t you? ❞
❝ My will is as strong as yours, and my kingdom as great. ❞
❝ You have no power over me. ❞
❝ How you turn my world, you precious thing. ❞
❝ Well then, come on, which way? ❞
❝ Which way do you want to go, hm? ❞
❝ Was that wrong? ❞
❝ I’ve brought you a gift. ❞
❝ But if you turn it this way and look into it, it will show you your dreams. ❞
❝ In nine hours and twenty-three minutes…you’ll be mine. ❞
❝ Where you goin’ with a head like that? ❞
❝ No, I said ‘allo’, but that’s close enough. ❞
❝ It’s only forever, not long at all. ❞
❝ All right then, throw down your weapons, and I’ll see that you’re well-treated. ❞
❝ Don’t tell me truth hurts, because it hurts like hell. ❞
❝ No one can blame you for walking away. ❞
❝ I don’t know why, but every now and again in my life - for no reason at all - I need you. ❞
❝ The way forward is sometimes the way back. ❞
❝ It’s very rude to stare! ❞
❝ What did you have to go and do a thing like that for? ❞
❝ What’d you expect fairies to do? ❞
❝ What’s the matter, my dear, don’t like your toys? ❞
❝ There’s such a sad love, deep in your eyes. ❞
❝ I’ll place the sky within your eyes. ❞
❝ What kind of magic spell to use? ❞
❝ I’ll paint you mornings of gold. ❞
❝ I’ll spin you Valentine evenings. ❞
❝ I’ll be there for you as the world falls down. ❞
❝ We’re choosing the path between the stars. ❞
❝ I’ll leave my love between the stars. ❞
❝ How you turned my world, you precious thing. ❞
❝ You starve and near exhaust me. ❞
❝ I do believe in you. ❞
❝ I live without the sunlight. ❞
❝ I love without your heartbeat. ❞
❝ I can’t live within you. ❞
“ i am a great person. ”
five word sentences • accepting — @innumerablejoys
❛ you’re a great boy, peter pan. ❜ she’s a little bit SAD, a little bit p e t u l a n t . wendy too, after all, is still a child ––––– it’s a detail many seem to forget. sometimes, not even wendy remembers. she listens to peter speak of his cleverness, speak of his adventures and his conquerings. it was all FIGHT, all play, all fun. it was a c t i o n and adventure and –––––––– childish. in the end, he’d never be more than a boy.
she’s h a r d l y surprised. it’s all he ever wanted to be, after all. wendy has learned not to expect anything else — he R U N S at the mentions. she smiles, i n d u l g e n t , but it doesn’t touch her eyes. ❛ a wonderful boy indeed. ❜
wendy STANDS, tears and sniffling long forgotten –––– her eyes are still a littleglassy, but within a few blinks, any trace of wetness will be gone. right now, wendy’s got to make sure nobody ends up with any extra scars because of peter’s crazy ideas ! ❛ well, i’m not going to stop you –––––– buuuut… ❜ her tone is songlike, vowel drawn melodious from her mouth. ❛ surely you know that having matching scars takes away the uniqueness ! dare i say…it’s almost like wearing a school uniform ! ❜
the laughter fades from her voice as her eyes meet that SCAR, of his, though. here comes the compassion she so v e r y m u c h likes to give. ❛ oh, peter, that looks like it hurt. ❜ it DOES.the scrape she got from falling may leave her with the p i n p r i c k s of a scar, but it’s CERTAINLY no hook. for a moment, her hands reach out to touch. but she doesn’t. ❛ how did you get away ? ❜ a soft distraction — he lovestelling his stories.
how EASY it was to change his mind. that’s the beauty of a CHILD, though. he didn’t want to be the SAME as everyone else. no, he was a CAPTAIN. ‘ i’m no STUDENT. we burn books here for WARMTH. ‘ he spits on the ground at the very IDEA of being compared to some boring school-yard child.
his attention is easily diverted back to his scar, a TOOTHY GRIN spreading thin lips as she questions the story. he crosses his ankles as he leans back into the air, hands resting behind his head. ‘ it’s a g o o d story --- as ALL of mine are. he tried to DISTRACT me with his greasy mustache && twigs in his hair, but i only told him how foolish he looked. then, his hook GLINTED in the light like a million shards of sunlight && i had to BLINK ----- the old codfish used that time to SLASH at me. he got blood on his hook && i got a scar. DIDN’T HURT A BIT. ‘ liar. he doesn’t DARE tell how he felt like crying from the wound.
❛ you’re not making it bleed less, either. ❜ it’s PETULANT, a little bit c h i l d i s h ––– but in a way, peter was right. it wasn’t his fault. but wendy was so used to showing outright c o m p a s s i o n , she forgot that his way of showing it was a little bit DIFFERENT. this, here, his t a l k about scars and envy –––– it was peter’s ATTEMPT. wendy couldn’t hope for more than that. her smile was slow to bloom, w o b b l y on pomegranate lips ––– but even just a hint of one was better than none. ❛ my auntie said that scars are unbecoming on a lady. ❜ her nose SCRUNCHES at the thought. she didn’t want to be a lady ; wendy wanted to be golden. ❛ peter ! you and the boys will not be getting a scar ––– it hurts ! i wouldn’t want you all to do that. ❜
his feet plant FIRMLY on the ground beneath him, toes curling && digging up dirt && grass as his fists find their rightful place on his hip bones. ‘ just TRY && stop us ! ‘ was everything a game ? of course; for what is CHILDHOOD but a CHALLENGE in & of itself ? he relaxes his posture, legs leaving the ground as he hovers, elbows digging into scrawny thighs as he props his head into his hands. ‘ -------- the old CODFISH got his hook into my leg once. LOOK ! ‘ to prove his story, his leg SHOOTS OUT, leaves pushed aside around his knee to show a jagged scar.
bare arm, sleeve rolled up ; she USES it to swipe at her nose. it’s g r o s s, yes, but wendy doesn’t have many other OPTIONS. using a leaf would only make it worse ; she’d end up with some sort of rash, no doubt. and, of course, peter is hardly helping the s t a t e she’s in. ❛ yes, but ––– i STILL fell. ❜ she isn’t crying, per say ––– but wendy very well COULD be, given how she’s f e e l i n g . peter just doesn’t understand. ❛ ·and it’s very hard to think positive thoughts with you making it worse ! ❜
does he understand ? NO. how COULD he ? no one was there to COMFORT him when he was the one that fell. no, the fairies just LAUGHED along with the cold stars overhead until he simply got up && tried again. there was no time for crying. ‘ how am i making it WORSE ? i’m not making it bleed more. think of the SCAR you will have ! the boys will envy it. maybe they’ll try to get a scar like that, too ! we ALL can ! ‘
This is the most beautiful gif set I’ve ever seen.
❛ W E N D Y ? why are you SNIFFLIN’ ? ❜ he’s CROUCHING over her now, wide eyes CURIOUS, && [ maybe partially ] CONCERNED. but, whatever ounce of concern first touched his countenance is soon replaced with D I S T A S T E. ❛ ARE YOU CRYING ? don’t ! you didn’t even FALL that f a r. ❜ he NEVER cried; surely she could just STOP.
