There's something that's been bothering me for the past couple days.

I saw this girl post the number for the Governor people could call and ask for justice for #georgefloyd. If you are unaware, He was a black Minnesota man who was MURDERED by the police.

After seeing her story on Instagram, thinking she probably would've tried to call since she posted about it, I messaged her asking if she was able to get through. She immediately told me "Oh I didn't bother calling. I posted it to post it"

I was taken aback.

I don't know what she was thinking when she posted it but in my eyes it seemed like she posted it to show people that she supports the cause and she's not racist.

This did in fact spark anger and annoyance in me. I contemplated making a post about it on Instagram hoping she would see it but I realized this is a problem bigger than just the people who have access to my posts on #instagram.

Listen, if you are posting things but aren't actually contributing to what you're preaching then YOU ARE NOT HELPING. YOU ARE NOT ADVOCATING. YOU DO NOT CARE.

yes, people are dying, but that doesn’t mean people aren’t allowed to be upset over smaller things such as an important event being cancelled or not being able to attend their graduation or celebrate their birthday. it’s not a completion, everyone’s loss hurts
