The mention of a cat does get the shorter- god he was shorter in this conversation, wasn't he? He couldn't say that he was too used to that phenomenon-- but either way he does perk up a little.
"I'm glad your cat was safe and sound for you."
There is the momentary vision of the one that he had Shimizu take in for his last client....A pang of something that threatens his relaxed nature makes itself known, but he decides to withhold on acknowledging that for now. Instead taking another drag of his cigarette as he looks off to the middle ground that his conversation partner had chosen.
"I used to have a job as well but..I haven't gone into looking into one yet...In theory, this has been the longest vacation I've been on for a while."
It was true. He didn't get a lot of time to himself but the longer he stayed here and the longer he went without *something* to occupy his mind and his hands, the more he could feel that itch of nihilism scratch at his spine.
"If you end up finding anyone who needs a lawyer, let me know."
If she looked over she could see there was a small twinkle of amusement in those eyes.
