Since you’re into your stats and I love stats, I’m wondering if you’re seeing any particular trends in the stats for your stories?

The two main things I see:

1. Smut gets high hits, low comments/low kudos. I know some people like to read it without a paper trail lol

1A. One shots also follow this a bit, but they get high hits/high Kudos and low comments most of the time. I don't track all of my one shots the way I track multichapters, though.

2. Sequels always do worse than the first part, threequels do dismally. The only time I've seen this happen differently is TL, where the sequel actually has more hits/more subs. The threequel is still sitting a bit low compared which is par for the course lol but I've never done a four-parter so we'll see how that pattern goes!

Other than that, I do see a higher trend of hits/comments on first chapters and less and less on subsequent chapters.

I am guilty of taking a peek at stats almost daily and see a higher increase of certain stats on weekdays. They all grow slower on the weekends from what I see.

I have also noticed if I upload two chapters to the same story at the same time, the first upload gets less comments. People often just comment on the second uploaded.

Hits will always be highest. Comments will be second highest on multichapters. Kudos will be third highest on multichapters(second highest on one shots). Bookmarks will be a little lower than subs.

That's about it, I think lol

Honest Question

And I don't mean anything inflammatory with it, I am genuinely curious.

What makes people leave Kudos without subbing?

Obviously, one shots or drabbles aside, because there's no point subbing to those.

But I am curious, because I do love looking at stats. Obviously, hits will always be highest because few will leave Kudos/Comments/Subs after reading. And of course, returning readers can't leave Kudos again. And obviously every hit absolutely does not equal one comment. But I am curious about the relationship between Kudos and Subs/Bookmarks, if there is one.

since you updated the Honks story despite saying you're too busy, are we getting more TL soon?

No, I am too busy to write more TL right now.

I happened to have the chapter for TWTWTs mostly done, just had to edit and slap on an ending(even though it's not a very detailed date, but I've never been on a date so they're not super easy to write)

There's far more work to put into the next part of TL, and I just don't have the time to do it. Or the energy, because I'd have to do it at night but I'd prefer to sleep/relax than try to work on it right now.

why are you hiding stories again

Just like readers have every right to choose what they read,authors have every right to decide what stays published and what doesn't. I've hidden two stories lately that just flopped in terms of interaction/interest(despite one winning the poll I published by a landslide). Neither had many subs, comments or hits, despite getting a few Kudos. I'm not going to leave up work that isn't finished due to disinterest/loss of motivation, I'd rather leave up works I know I'm going to finish/people want to see finished because despite everyone saying "write for yourself", I am absolutely lying if I say I do that. I can not do that, despite trying to learn to. So, if a story doesn't get much in visible interest, I'm not wasting my time, I'd rather try to find a story to write that people would like more.

Cats understand "naughty". In fact I think they're the only animal who understands it. Dogs know "good" and "bad" but not Naughty. Same with theft. Cats know what theft is. They know when they are thieving and you can see it on their faces. Squirrels are thieves but they don't know that. They know "take" and "have" but they don't comprehend what it is to steal. Nor do raccoons or coyotes or any species of rodent. They may participate in theft but they are ignorant of the weight of what they do, the full meaning of it. Cats know what crime is and they do it on purpose.
