Baguio City as the Philippines summer capital is one of the famous tourist destination in the country. It is known by its colder atmosphere, often called as the city of Pines. It is a small city so it's easier to explore, if it's your first time i recommend you buy a map and do some research. Popular tourist attractions are: Burnham Park, Session Road, Camp John Hay, The Mansion, Mines View Park, Wright Park, Botanical Garden, Baguio Cathedral, Kennon road, Lourdes Grotto, Philippine military academy, Mount Santo Tomas, Bell Church, Tam-awan Village, Asin Hot Springs, Wood Carver's Village, Easter Weaving room, Maryknoll Ecological Santuary and Balatoc Mines and Crosby Park. Take Taxi or Jeepney when going to these places.
Approximately it is 5 hours drive from Manila and takes more if you take a bus. You can take bus from Victory Liner its more convenient. I suggest you stay at hotels along Session road, it is easy access to shopping malls, restaurants and convenient store. There are a lot of hotels and transient to choose from just do some research before your trip, it is always good to be ready. Have a nice trip folks! ;)
Boracay, Philippines recently named as ‘2012 world’s best island’ by travel + leisure. I take pride because I love Boracay so much! It’s more fun in the Philippines! http://www.travelandleisure.com/worldsbest/2012/islands
This is Anda white beach resort in Bohol. I fell in love the moment i saw the place. I like how the swimming pool was built - which is overlooking the sea. What you see in pictures is what exactly you’ll expect to see when you get there. When i was there it was like i’m on honeymoon vacation. The place is just breathtakingly romantic! Guaranteed privacy indeed! No wonder their guests are mostly couples :). The owners who personally run the business are very nice and hands on, they make all the guests feel at home. They arrange a dinner and drinks every saturday for all the guests. We went to different resort for pizza dinner and had drinks in a bar, where they have a live band. We all sing and dance. It was fun and we all got drunk!
How to get there: You can fly to Tagbilaran airport from manila. The resort arrange pick up transfer which is very convenient. Try to get the beach front rooms, it has a nice view!
For reservation check out their website: http://www.andabeachresort.com/
WHY I LOVE BORACAY? i remember someone asked me this. I only have one reason: the fun never ends! It may not be as developed as Bali in Indonesia or Pattaya and Phuket in Thailand but it is definitely one of the best tropical island in the world! It is famous for it's fine white sand and blue water. Boracay has plenty of hotels from affordable to the expensive ones, different choices of restaurants, bars and clubs. They say Boracay is all about swimming all day and party all night! I so agree with this! :)
TIP: Station 1 has the best fine white sand beach in Boracay and not so crowded. If you love to shop and close to everything stay at station 2. If you like quiet sleep at night stay at station 3 or Diniwid.
The Philippine Jeepney, have become a ubiquitous symbol of Philippine culture. This is also the cheapest way to commute all around the big cities in Philippines. The minimum fare is Php8.00 :)
We call them "Padyak". In many Tagalog-to-English dictionaries, the noun “padyak” (pahd´-yahk) is translated as the act of stamping one’s feet. While similar to rickshaws and pedicabs in other Asian countries, the Filipino padyak is unique in that the rider is seated in a sidecar, beside the bicycle.
Long queue at ATM machines. You will see this anywhere in Philippines, especially during rush hour, weekends and holidays. If you are traveling to Philippines always bring plenty of cash(Peso notes) not all establishment accepts credit or debit card.
Boracay island Station 1 hang-outs.
Puka beach is in northern tip of Boracay island. The best spot for picnic, sunbathing, quiet time(chill) and a very romantic place for couples - with fine white sand and azure water. The best tropical beach I've been so far. It is uninhabited and not so crowded even in peak season. Just don't forget to bring your trash with you when you leave.
How to get there: From station 1,2,3 and Diniwid you can rent a boat which cost around Php1200 for 4hours or better yet ask your hotel for more information on how to get there.
Have you been to Philippines? If you do please share your story and pictures to www.choosephils.com and let the world know why you choose to visit Philippines.
