True Beauty By Alba Olea

This piece represents a lot of things, I relate it to me and to the world. I see the generations come up with new trends, beauty being the reigning queen among millennials. As the generation under us grows our trends and culture gets passed down. The latest highlight, sharp eyebrows and winged eyeliner, is all temporary. What I am trying to show here is what true beauty is, the skull what hides within us that has become of fear and death. When it should be the symbol of our lives and beauty. Not the models you see in the background, whom people follow on Instagram on a daily basis. The skulls in the piece are dominant figures even the human body its places on is bruised and battered. To symbolize the continuous pain in out souls to live up to societies trends and norms. It also symbolizes my own battles with trying to be picture perfect. In stead of trying to find perfect own the perfect you already have! Love yourself and everything that comes from within, because in the end makeup is temporary, your personality is everlasting.
