Chapter 5
You begin to wonder what he could possibly mean by “fun” but before you could finish your thoughts you are grabbed by the hand and tugged along behind Peter. “Where are we going??” you question.
“You’ll see in a few moments…” Peter replies casually.
“I can follow you without you holding onto my hand thank you.” You say curtly as you tear your hand away from his.
“Alright…alright…” you hear him mutter as you trek uphill through the forest.
A short time later you reach a clearing on a cliff of the Island. You gaze at the view only able to see some of Neverland’s shoreline. Before you are able to utter a word about the scenery Peter scoops you up into His arms and takes off into the sky. You shriek in utter surprise and shut your eyes tightly hoping it would all be over soon, that it was just a dream. “Don’t be scared….I’ve got you! Open your eyes and enjoy the view” He says with a chuckle.
“Please! Let me down!” You say, fear invading your voice.
“If I let you down now you’d probably fall to your death, and I won’t have any of that.” He said with a laugh. The thought of being so far away from the ground made your stomach turn inside out. “Okay…” He relented “I’ll make it a short trip. I just wanted to show you around our home.” Peter flew smoothly over the whole Island, pointing out a few familiar landmarks like mermaid lagoon and skull rock from your childhood. “What about Pixie hollow… and the Indian camp?” You ask.
“Pixies were destroyed by the shadow of darkness years ago….and the Indians were driven out by Pirates before that even….” Peter says grimly.
“I see…” You reply.
“That’s why I’m the only one who can fly on the Island, No pixies…no pixie dust. And we can’t depend on the Indians for trade anymore since they’re gone.” He continued as he flew closer to the canopy of trees. As you drew closer you could see a large ship on the horizon. “Are those the Pi-” you begin to ask before you are hushed by Peter.
“Shh…” He said quietly. “We don’t want them to spot us.”
You nod.
“Wendy…make sure you stay far away from the north side of the Island. Do you understand?”
You nod again.
“These Pirates are ruthless enemies and would do anything for treasure and revenge.”
“I understand.” You whisper.
“Good.” He said as he flew back in another direction, towards what He earlier called The Forest Of The Lost.

Chapter 6
As you and Peter stroll back to camp you begin once again to contemplate your escape plan. The key to your escape would seem to be gaining the trust of Peter. He seems so different from what you remember, older and there was something else… you just couldn’t quite put your finger on.
“Well you’re awfully quiet.” Peter exclaims as he swings his arm around your shoulder.
“I’m just recovering from that unexpected journey.” You reply as you push his arm off your shoulder.
“Aw come ‘on Wendy, don’t be like that.” You hear him say as you continue to walk ahead of him into the camp.
The sun was beginning to set as you enter camp, the Lost boys had already finished cooking the evening meal and were waiting on Peter to arrive so that they could begin eating.
Peter walked around the cooked meal, swiped a taste with his finger to his mouth and exclaimed “Let’s eat boys!”
As all the boys began to rush towards the food Peter held up his hand and stopped them.
“Ladies first.” He said sternly.
“Do I have to remind you all that we have a Lady here…” He said as his eyes pierced in your direction. He gestured towards you, beckoning you to come.
Feeling uncomfortable with everyone suddenly staring you slowly walk over to him and scoop your food into the wooden bowl. You find a log to sit on and everything went back to what it was before.
The food didn’t seem too strange, some type of meat, fruit and some greens. It was a pleasant surprise seeing as you didn’t know what to expect here on Neverland. Everything seems so different; a lot has changed.
The smooth, melodic sound of a panpipe broke your thoughts. You gaze around the camp to see where it came from. Felix and a few other boys were having a discussion not too far from the fire not even phased by the noise. The rest of the boys seemed to be carving out weapons or cleaning up from the meal and you just saw Peter walking towards the stream to fill refill the water. “This may be a good chance to slip away.” you think to yourself. You slowly rise from the log you were sitting on and slip into the forest unnoticed. Quietly, you walk through the brush, the Pipe’s melody still playing.
You glance around to see if anyone followed you.
Still no sight of anyone, you decide to keep going.
After walking for a few minutes, you hear the Pipe stop playing. Glancing behind, you see that the forest is dark and all is quiet, except for a long winded howl of some Neverland creature. Determined to keep going you turn back to your original direction.
“Hello love.” You hear whispered into your ear.
Startled, you whip around to see Peter lurking behind you.
“Where did you think you were going?? Trying to sneak off were you?” he snapped.
“Ah... No... I was just…listening to the music.” you fib.
“Oh... So you heard that?” he said, a grin forming on his face.
“Yes… I… didn’t know where it was coming from so… I decided to look and see if I could find It.” you continued to lie.
“That music was me playing my pipe” he admitted. “You know…If you can hear the music that means that you truly belong here, with me.”
“Really… and how does that tell you I belong exactly? You question.
“It’s a magic flute… people who feel unloved. People who feel lonely, people who feel lost can only hear it.” He replies. “Only the lost truly belong on Neverland. I guess that’s why you can hear it Wendy, isn’t it.”
“Tell me Wendy.” he continued. “What is it that makes you feel lost?”
“I am not lost. Don’t pretend to know me.” You say pointedly “You don’t. Not anymore.”
“Well, I think I do.” Peter says confidently. “You’re nothing but a lonely, lost girl.”
“You’re wrong.” You say as you turn from him and stalk off back to camp.
“We’ll see about that.” Peter mumbles to himself as he follows you back.

C H A P T E R 3.
By the time you reach camp, it is now very dark probably past midnight, the only light present is the burning embers in the dying fire.
Felix stops close to a nearby tree. Peter comes around behind Felix to face you.
“If you promise not to run, I’ll tell Felix to put you down,” Peter said sternly.
Knowing you have no choice but to play this little game, you slowly nod your head. Peter gives Felix a look and you are set down on your own two feet again.
Felix stands behind you and Peter is standing in front of you, probably thinking you would take off again.
“I’ve prepared a room for you, Wendy… come with me.” Peter said stretching his hand out towards you. You slowly step forward, with no intention of taking his hand but to follow him to where he wants to take you.
Cocking his brow, he smiles and then turns toward a large tree with branches that were widespread.
“Shut your eyes,” he said. You shut them enough for him to think they were completely closed. You were still able to see what he was doing as you winced your eyes shut. Looking satisfied, Peter turned a knot that was on the tree trunk, three times to the left and then two times to the right. A large doorway appeared on the tree. Peter turned towards you once more and took your hand, which made you jump a little.
“Steady now” He cooed.
His rough hand gently clasped yours.
“Watch your step” Peter warned and he led you through the door.
You counted how many steps you took downward, 12.
“You can open your eyes now,” said Peter.
You fully open your eyes to see an underground den. There was a large bed on the far side of the room and a trunk that sat in front of it. The ground was covered with the furs of animals. Realizing that Peter is still holding your hand you quickly pull it away.
“This, will be your room…” He said almost sounding a little hurt that you pulled away from him. “No one is allowed in this room except Felix, and Myself. If I catch any of my other boys down here I’ll skin them alive.” He continued. “There are nightgowns and other clothes for you in the trunk sitting in front of the bed…use them as you wish.”
Peter then turned towards the stairs to leave. Felix, who had followed you both down to the den was close behind him. As they walked up the stairs you could hear Peter murmur to Felix “I trust you to guard the door tonight in case she tries taking off.”
Bang.
The door shut behind them.
“No way out tonight” you whisper to yourself.
Looking down you decide to take off your damaged button-down boots, they would make the fur covered floor dirty. After unbuttoning each cumbersome boot and laying them beside the stairs, you look over to the trunk in front of the bed. “I wonder what he’s got in there,” you think to yourself. You walk over to the trunk and lift the weighty lid. Looking inside you can see several ivory nightgowns, a few dresses, a few pairs of pants, shirts and boots. “He must have been planning this for a while…” you think to yourself, starting to feel uneasy.
Picking up a nightgown, you go over to the corner and change out of your dirt covered skirt and blouse. You pull the soft nightgown over your head and drape it over the rest of your slender body. It fit like a glove. Looking at it more closely you can see stitched details on the sleeves and on the bodice.
As you look at the nightgown an idea makes itself known in your mind. “I’ll escape… early in the morning, when everyone is asleep….Felix will be much too tired to stay awake all night after carrying me through the forest.” You think to yourself. “It must be past midnight… so maybe if I wait a few hours all will be asleep and I can make my escape…” You whisper to yourself.
After a couple hours of pacing and waiting you decide to try opening the door. You creep up the stairs and gently push on the wooden door.
It didn’t budge.
You try again pushing a little harder, it moved slightly but then slammed shut again.
Fearful Felix may have woken from the noise, you rush down the stairs and leap into the large bed. Covering yourself with the blankets, making it look as if you were sound asleep. Sure enough, you hear the door open and shut. Eyeing Felix just stepping off the last stair, you close your eye’s trying to look asleep and serene. You could sense he was close, by the glow of what was probably a candle.
“My, how beautiful you have become, little Wendy bird…” He whispered to himself into the darkness. As he turned to leave you slowly open your eyes and observe him, sauntering up the stairs and through the door.
You sigh. “That was too close.” You think as you pull the blankets over your body. You continue to contemplate an escape plan. “I should continue this little game… get them to trust me… then they won’t need to guard the door or me and then I should be able to make an easy escape…”
Now feeling warm and comfortable your eyes become heavy with exhaustion. “I will get home…” you think as you drift off into sleep.
C H A P T E R 4.
Your eye’s flutter open as you feel something brush across your cheek. As you become aware, you see Peter Pan sitting on the bed. Hand stretched towards you. Immediately you back away from him.
“There’s nothing to fear love.” He grinned.
“It’s not proper for a man to enter the room of a young woman…” You chide.
You could see he was taken aback by what you said but it only lasted a moment.
“This is Neverland Wendy, You’re not on the mainland anymore…” He smirked.
“Why are you even here??” you quipped back.
“Just wanted to make sure you were still here.” He said with a shrug. Peter stood up and waltzed over to the stairs. “After you change, knock on the door and Felix will escort you out.” He called as he went up the stairs.
“Great…” you think as you roll your eyes.
You go to the trunk in front of the bed and lift the lid to find some different attire to wear. You choose the pale blue A-line frock. It was a modest dress, the bodice, sleeves and hem of the dress were delicately adorned with floral embroidery.
You slowly walk up the stairs and knock on the door. Immediately Felix opens the small door. As soon as you walk out, the door in the tree disappears.
“How curious…” you whisper to yourself.
“This way.” Felix urges.
You turn around to see at least a dozen young men busily working around the camp. Before you could ask any questions Felix had already started trudging toward a pathway. You follow him. After walking down the pathway for a bit, Felix took a right turn off the path. “Where are we going?” You ask.
“You’ll see….” He murmured.
You walk a bit further until you come to a large, black tree. You see Peter sitting cross-legged on one of the large limbs.
“Him? Again?” you think to yourself.
“Ahh! You made it!” Peter said with a playful grin. “I can manage it from here Felix, why don’t you go oversee the rest of the lost boys for now.”
And with that Felix turned and sauntered all the way back to camp.
Now you were alone…. Just you… and Peter.
“Let the fun begin,” Peter said with a smirk.

C H A P T E R 1.
It was dusk, you had just finished another book in the park and were on your way home. Although home is not a place that you wanted to be particularly, because it had become filled with emptiness and misfortune. But little did you know that another misfortune was about to be encountered.
Making your way home, you stroll down the street past the baker’s shop, an arm slung out from behind and grabbed you, yanking you into a dim alley. “There she is.” A low voice murmured, holding you tight against his chest. You couldn’t see his face.
You panicked, kicking and trying to expel yourself out of his grip.“Let g-!” you began to screech as he clamps his hand over your mouth.
“I don’t think so, Wendy Darling.” He cooed. “I can’t stay away from you.”
For as much as you were struggling, he didn’t seem very fazed by it. “It’s in our destiny to be together, Wendy. You can’t go against destiny.” He chuckled, “Let’s go back home.”
Before you could protest he dropped his hand from your face and purple dust was flittering in front of you.
All went dark.
C H A P T E R 2.
As you rouse from deep slumber, you become aware of the coolness of the air and the faint smell of smoke. The ground is lumpy as if you were on a bed of rocks, and your clothes feel damp. You half wonder if you’re still dreaming as you sit up to take in the scene around you, which seems to be some sort of camp. There is a dead fire and sitting logs spread out around it.
Immediately you remember the man’s voice. “He abducted me…. And now I’m at this camp?” You think to yourself, still confused. There are a few paths around you but no sign of another person. As far as you can tell you’re alone with the birds who make their distant screeches. You feel more alert. As if you were being watched… “I need to get out of here…” you murmur.
Standing up, you glance down to notice your indigo skirt and white blouse are dusty from laying on the ground. The forest is dismal so it’s difficult to tell which path to take. Looking carefully at each path, there is one that seems to have been used many times. “I think I will use that one, but I’ll have to tread lightly so I don’t run into that man again…” You muse quietly.
You walk beside the path, through the trees to avoid running into anyone. “I just need to get back to Kensington, people will be wondering where I am…” You think as you begin to make your way through the forest.
A twig snaps.
You whip around, only to find no one there.
Striding carefully now, you creep alongside the path.
Another crack.
You duck and freeze. Peering through the brush in view of the path. This time there is someone, a tall figure. Ducking just in time, you weren’t seen. You stare as it saunters down the path, carrying a large branch or club of some sort. Waiting until the figure disappears into the fog that is settling into the woods, you look around once more for good measure, slowly stand up and quietly exhale. That was close. Starting slowly down the path again, you keep a close watch to make sure that no one is coming. After an hour or so you can see the end of the path. It looks much brighter at the edge of the forest.
You start to pick up your pace and reach the edge of the forest. Before you lies a beach with a sun set horizon. “I’d better find a place to hide, who knows who or what could be lurking about when the sun goes down…” You think. After walking along the beach for a while you notice an inlet. It’s getting darker, the sun is almost gone. You don’t want to lose what light you have left so you start jogging toward the inlet, where you find a large cave. Standing at the mouth of the cave you begin to think about how it would be a good place to take refuge when your thoughts are interrupted.
“Enjoying a little excursion are we?” said a voice.
You whip around.
It wasn’t that tall figure from before but a young man.
“W-who are you?” you cautioned.
“Don’t you remember me?” He said, looking a little surprised for a moment.
You looked at him with a cocked eyebrow. Still having no Idea who this man could be.
“It’s me! Peter, Peter Pan!” He exclaimed in frustration.
