Sometimes it seems like things will never get better because no matter how positive you are you feel the same and it took me a long time to learn that there are small moments that do not happen often but make a bit of difference. The moments are when you are natural and raw about the bad parts of everything and just for a moment it is healing to be dark and pesimistic but only for the important task of checking in with yourself and your feelings. Sometimes the walls of positivity we build to protect ourselves from damaging negativity are so tall and mighty that we couldn't see over them even on our tippy toes. Basically, by being so good at focusing on moving on from my problems I had lost touch with them and frankly kind of forgot what it was exactly I needed to fix. I still had a general idea, like that I had depression but I forgot the subtle tones and nuances of my own depression it was hard to check in on my progress and see if I was making strides. What I learned from this is balance. And previous to this, Balance, to me was an elusive goddess that I couldn't imagine in my wildest dreams. I finally found that being on one extreme or the other makes getting where I want to go so much more difficult. That's why it's important that when you take that small moment to be raw and true about things you don't let yourself get stuck in it. I, myself, have gotten stuck in it many times.

Even if it is for .02 seconds it does shine and that not might be much to help but it is .02 seconds of a break from what can be unrelenting stress. I'm learning to be thankful for that.
