Hey everyone,
Despite the progress and enjoyment I’ve received the past 2 years, my art is falling short in my heart as of late. In an attempt to break this cycle and find new meaning in my material, I’ve devised a series of work called “flora”. Representing the struggle black and brown people face navigating a society that was not created for us, “flora” will chronicle the experiences and emotions of individuals across the African Diaspora. It will be a testament and testimony to the complex state we are forced to (and/or choose) to exist in everyday. “flora” is a submissions-based series. So POC regardless of age (18+), ethnicity, gender, or sexual orientation are invited to send in photographs — and no, they don’t have to be professional photos. I’m going to make a separate post, to show what I’m looking for.
