STUDYING WITH DEPRESSION INFOGRAPHIC
This topic is really close to my heart. I’ve struggled with Depression for 4 years but I didn’t reach out for help until this year because I’ve been scared. It took a toll on me as a person and especially my grades.

Gloomy weekend morning set-up. I just bought this huge pack of paper made from recycled coffee cups, no idea what I’ll use it for yet but it’s good to have more room to play 🤍
Left the cocoon and bought myself a book from the local bookstore 🥰

What didn’t work?: This week honestly wasn’t too great mentally. The picture above my representation of what it felt like. The news going on all around the world does definitely play a big role in this, along with me struggling to schedule and stick to my routine. However, in the short burst of motivation I did get after the slump at the beginning of the week, I did get a better sense of how to get things done. Making a rough schedule the night before seemed to help on days I implemented it. Also deciding a main task for the day and one or two more sub tasks for the day also helped structure the day better, with the main task (intense task) being done at times when I’m most likely to get them done and the sub tasks (less intense tasks) for times when my concentration is fairly low.
What worked?: Here’s a couple more things I’m doing to make things a little easier in the past few weeks (hoping it can help y’all too):
Tips from this video (PHONE ADDICTION: 3 Strange Steps To Snap You Out) provides some interesting action steps that do help reduce phone usage overall. Thanks to this my Instagram usage especially has seemed to reduce quite a bit.
Reducing phone usage by keeping the phone away at night (not going too well yet, I’m trying). This also helps if you set an alarm so you have to get up to switch off the alarm, making it harder to go to bed.
I have an issue of drinking water regularly, so I’ve set hourly reminders for that too. Again I seem to ignore my own reminders at times but there is progress overall.
What did I get done?: As for the actual tasks I’m working on, I’m currently working on two courses from Harvard University: CS50: Introduction to Computer Science and CS50: Understanding Technology, to brush up on some coding skills and hopefully to fill in the gaps in my current knowledge. Along with intense procrastination and demotivation, I managed to finish a lecture and its corresponding assignment from CS50, with the rest of the week attempting to finish the Understanding Technology course, which has lesser content and hence can be completed quickly. However I still have two more lectures to go, which I intend to finish by next week. Other tasks include me FINALLY trying to organize my photos, both phone and DSLR photos, with some significant progress on DSLR photos this week.
Though there were times being at home for this long did lead to a lot of irritation, hence I decided to go out for a walk in my area for a change in environment. One thing I did realize from this is that the reason behind me being annoyed is the lack of physical activity at home, something I should try to consciously include in my daily schedule for the future.
little things to do every day:
open your window and feel the air
make lists
hug someone
splash some water on your face
spend a few minutes without any screens
always have water with you
doodle
clean one thing that’s messy/dirty
compliment someone
be kind to yourself
Bad days are part of the process. Please don’t give up.
if you are seeing this, you are going to prosper. you are experiencing a new part of your life where you will bloom into a better version of yourself and flourish. abundance is coming your way; love is coming your way; peace and clarity are coming your way. you have nothing to fear and even less to worry about. the darkness around you has been the soil and you are now getting ready to sprout. you are going to prosper
8.5.2020 — 12 / 100 days of productivity
to coffee or not to coffee, that is the question
Productivity culture will deceive you (especially if you are particularly high-functioning or a former Gifted Kid) into thinking that any use of your time that can’t be monetized or leveraged for your personal advancement is worthless, and I’m here to tell you that’s the devil talking. Do shit because you like it.
