“––and, honestly, that’s probably the most exciting thing about astronomy, in my opinion, at least. well, come to think of it, that’s if you disregard the whole debate over the existence of parallel universes, but that makes my head hurt when i think about it.” there was a beat and bowie finally glanced up from the papers in front of him. granted, the boy had never been too apt at picking up on social cues, but it had been a while since he’d heard another voice.
oh no, i’m lecturing, he thought with a shock wave of panic running through him. “i’m so sorry. how long was i rambling for this time?”
hi everyone! my name is bambi and this beautiful boy goes by the name of bowie. he’s curious to a fault and, accordingly, is always eager to try new things, with moving to cape hazel being one such instance. (i’m trying not to use a million exclamation points in this post but i’m just so excited to be here; everyone seems so lovely -- not like i’ve been stalking this group for the past couple of days or anything though! definitely not!) i’m more than open to plot with everyone so don’t be surprised if i send a probably awkward message your way asking if you’d like to do that!

- bowie is actually 1/3rd of a totally cool trio; he's a triplet. his two other brothers are named benjamin and blaine -- his mom loved b names. speaking of his mother, she was always hell-bent on having multiples (it was her mission to do the whole childbirth thing all at once, and get it over with, so to speak).
- while he's working on getting his master's degree in astronomy, bowie is working as a freelance astronomer. cape hazel is his escape from a polluted world: light pollution, that is. as night falls, he's found himself in a place where he can look up and be astounded by the thousands upon maybe millions of stars he sees blinking down on him. after growing up in the heart of san francisco, it goes without saying that he's never seen so many stars.
- ever since he was young, bowie's curiosity has always gotten the best of him. when he was seven, he was fed up with being the middle triplet, so he packed up his bags and set out to explore the bustling streets of his home city all by himself. he didn't get past the corner before turning around and racing home.
- he never saw himself living in a place like cape hazel, simply due to the fact that he wasn't sure places like it even existed anymore. sometimes, he feels himself falling into a sort of trance where he believes that everyone's some sort of mystical being and his time in the town is just one long daydream. work tends to snap him out of it, though.
- bowie's used to walking anywhere and everywhere. growing up in an urban area will do that to someone, after all. further, he's used to being spoiled and having everything within walking distance at all times. the cvs on the corner? gotcha. the whole foods? done. anything and everything his heart desired (and it desired quite a few odd things) was readily available, within reason.
- he's trying to start getting into the habit of writing letters for the sake of it. bowie knows that his mother would just love it, but he soon finds himself lost and frustrated with the process. he's always quick to realize how ugly his own handwriting is (also, come to think of it, mom writes in cursive -- what even is that anymore?) and gives up, deciding to keep things simple and skype both her and his brother, benjamin, who are still living in san francisco. getting a hold of blaine, who is out chasing his dreams in new york city has proven to be more than a chore on more than one occasion.
who fucking litters. why do i ever see litter. who thinks that’s okay. who. who NEEDS to throw their fast food bag out the fucking window instead of waiting until they get somewhere with a trashcan. what kinda clown behavior. get fucked.
