“You’re okay.“ poured from the android’s mouth once more, his voice soft and gentle, calming - as he hoped. He had been made to have this exact effect on others - after all, he had been designed for situations just like these. Defuse and negotiate. He was, quite literally, born for this.
“No one is going to come near you if you do not want them to.“ he promised, keeping his hands lifted upwards so that the other would be able to see them at any time, to follow their every move. To prove he harboured no ill intentions in relation to the other.
“Would you mind telling me your name?“ An initial scan of the panicked man - an android, without a doubt - revealed no information in regards to his identity, his former owner or model; and frankly, that was more than enough to render Connor suspicious of the other, at the very least.
the FURTHER away from the crowd , the easier it was to focus . noise was cut down , the feeling of SUFFOCATION due to the sheer amount of people . he could escape like this , he could run if he so chose to . even with the other android there , talking to him , trying to calm him down , he wasn’t TRAPPED . there was nothing and no one keeping him there for whatever reason .
realizing the choices he had helped , and the other’s tone of voice echoing the fact EASED him a bit . though his LED still spun RED beneath his hat , stress levels were slowly decreasing . focus on anything but the humans out there . the grooves in the cement beneath his feet , imperfections against the brick wall behind him . even on the android in front of him , look at SOMETHING and keep it in focus . ex’s gaze only broke for a moment when his name was asked .
“ . . . EX . ” his NAME , not his model number . even if he gave it , he wasn’t sure what the other might have scanned from him . and if the other had scanned him already , what DID he find ? was there anything there ?
