The great thing about huge declarations is that the most times you're ever going to have to deliver on them is ONCE. And even that is vanishingly unlikely. The dishes happen every day. My feet hurt now. The kids need a lift to piano lessons every week. The grenade is hypothetical.
I find it very interesting how women who choose to wear hijab as a sign of their religious dedication, don’t understand that that needs to be a choice. Women in Iran and Afghanistan are being oppressed in the name of Islam. One would think that if Islam is so important to Muslims, they would feel the need to protect its image and not want it to be a form of oppression. Taking whats happed in Iran (as a form of protest or not) and making it about yourself is so unbelievably childish that it leaves me shocked quite honestly. Women have been getting killed and beat by the police in Iran and this violence has been happening for decades. I don’t understand how this oppression is different to others in other countries. Activism cannot be selective otherwise you’re not an activist you’re just mad about things that only pertain to you and your world views.
Letting the Western media fool you into thinking how women choose to stand up for themselves is Islamophobic is just as bad as letting the Western media making you believe that Muslims are savages. You know that line of news lies to you. Why do you believe it now? The West use Iranian women to put forward their own agenda. Let me tell you this, Iranian women don’t care. Women who are using their bodies to fight are not thinking about keeping the image of Islam pretty for you in the West. That is YOUR job. They are fighting and they don’t have time to coddle the ideology that they see as their oppressor. I’m sure that once Iranians have freedom of religion, things will be different.
Identity politics and oppression olympics is how our real enemies win. Leave people who have nothing but their flesh and blood alone. Everyone is fighting a battle. You might not understand it, but that doesn’t matter, not everything is about you. You are being cruel and the only person that is harming is defenceless Iranian women. If your freedom to wear hijab in the West is important to you, why do you feel threatened by others having that same level of freedom? Why is it only good if it’s for you? Freedom of religion (and by definition not having it) is a human right that others also deserve. Stop being childish and stop being selfish.
pro-abortion. pro-divorce. i believe we have the god-given right to give up
when people go after no-fault divorce or abortion what they're really doing is trying to enshrine the sunk cost fallacy into law
it sounds like a joke but this is a genuine political belief of mine. you should be able to leave a situation you don't like. the government has no business trapping you in a relationship.

Be so completely yourself that no one is attracted to you or wants to employ you
Been doing this ✌️
What I learned today is that you can be Penn Badgley and still be cast as the ugly brother
nothing is real
And so maybe when one day when my decaying body is convulsing on the floor of a public bathroom I’ll think about it more and cry out loud about it.
But not now.
The fact that they cast Naveen William Sidney Andrews, a British Indian man, to play Saeed meant that his Arabic was shit (obv why wouldn’t be, no one’s blaming him) and they had to do all the Iraq flashbacks in English. Instead we get all the Korean flashbacks in Korean which makes sense BECAUSE THEY HAPPENED IN FUCKING KOREA.
Anyway this stupid fucking representation of Middle Easterns by casting south Asians is also why most my friends say I look too “white” and most strangers just know I look different but they think I’m just Italian. Then they cast actual Iranian actors to play weird ethnically ambiguous or even white characters. There’s nothing ethnically ambiguous about it. We’re Middle Eastern.
Also if one more person says I look White I’m gonnna lose my fucking mind.
You don’t own a skin tone.
Claudia was my dark child, my love, evil of my evil. Claudia broke my heart.
This gut wrenching portrayal of the father daughter realtionship where it’s all pain and there was like 3 good times sometimes and it’s buried in years of hatred because of him hurting the ones you love and hurting you and never loving you how you need and he gives you life but he hates you but he loves you but he can’t stand you and—
I LOVE YOU FOR MAKING THIS
Gifs aren't enough. We need the full scene on here right now. I am going to be watching this on a loop until season 3...
Louis. Mon cher. You wanted to say something to me? Why are you ill? What's happened to you?
they’re unionizing
The shooting of Najeeb Salem Sadeq occurred just hours before ITV News filmed an unarmed civilian being shot dead whilst walking in a group
Idk how to tell you this but it’s not about indigeneity. Most people all around the fucking world aren’t indigenous to where they live. It’s about being allowed to live, it’s about being thrown out of your country and having nowhere else to go, it’s about civilians dying and politicians benefiting.
Get your one mutual head out of your ass
I didn’t know all I needed in life was to see Will Ferrell as god and Sandra Oh as a protective older sister
