She was awfully well informed. Although it could just be that Hal told her about them. No.. it was like she had information about them stored somewhere. Batman certainly wouldn’t feel a too well about that. He was usually the one keeping the files.Much to Superman’s dismay. It was like he just didn’t trust them. But best not to dwell on internal issues of the league right now. They’d probably work out their trust issues as they grew older. For now, Supes couldn’t help but feel a bit weary.

As she went on, his demeanor relaxed slightly more. Especially after her explanation of how the whole Green Lantern thing worked. For a moment he looked at her as though she may have been telling a joke, but.. that was the look of a dead serious person.

“Wait so.. The whole intergalactic police thing was true? I thought that was just Hal trying to pull our legs. This is.. fascinating.”

“And an A.I. as well. I have one of my own, although he was a bit less.. friendly. In any case, it’s a pleasure to meet you, Aya. Can’t say it’s quite the same a seeing a familiar face, but knowing someone so close to a friend of mine is here makes me feel at ease. You wouldn’t happen to know if Hal was here by any chance, would you?”

Aya was indeed well informed, but it was nothing she could help. It was simply how she’d been programmed. Besides, it wasn’t like she used this information for anything bad. Not anymore, anyway. Aya was hardly aware of the Superman’s distrust of her, and thus, wasn’t really worried by his presence. She knew that he was a member of th Justice League, so she assumed he was also a friend of Hal’s.

He gave her a strange look and Aya only tilted her head. She hadn’t said anything wrong, so there was nothing for the Superman to be worried about.

“Correct, you may refer to the Green Lanterns of Oa as such, I suppose. He was not lying.”

She perked up a bit upon hearing that he had an AI of his own, and wished to know more. If there was something she could learn from him, the better, even if he was supposedly unfriendly.

“I would like to know more about this AI of yours, if you do not mind, Superman.”

“And negative, I have not seen Green Lantern Hal, nor have I been able to locate his presence in this city, or sector.”

Some kind of energy. Most of his powers were dulled, but it seemed his senses were still more or less intact. These scientists must have only blocked abilities that would be deemed troublesome or dangerous to them. Super hearing and sensing these kind of energies he had no real problem with. Naturally, he was overjoyed. Such an energy signature could only belong to one person. Someone familiar. And he could use a friendly face right about now.

Aya had just attempted to start a conversation it seemed, when whoever it was she had addressed suddenly gawked up towards the sky. Something was coming down right on top of them. And fast at that. Well, with all the people here it shouldn’t have been a  surprise anymore to see crazy stuff like this.

“Hal?”

*Crash*

“You’re not Hal.”

He landed a few meters away from them, leaving a small indent in the floor where he landed. He couldn’t fly, but his super strength sure as heck could help him leap. Not quite leaping tall buildings in a single bound, but a pretty decent leap nonetheless. Going from overjoyed to weary, Superman observed this stranger, taking note of the symbol on her chest.

“That’s the Green Lantern symbol. I thought Hal was the Green Lantern.”

Yeah, he’d only really met the guy once so he didn’t have the time to go through the whole ‘GL corps’ explanation. From Supes’ perspective, there was only one guy.

Aya tilted her head curiously when the person she was speaking to looked up to the sky, then suddenly ran away. She hadn’t even gotten a response, but soon enough, there was a crash right by her, and she jumped a bit in surprising. Turning, she saw a human. At least, he resembled a human, but she knew humans weren’t capable of things like this.

“No I am not Green Lantern Hal, but you appear to know him. Scanning visual to determine identity.” She spoke as she extended her hand out in front of her, a green light bathing the man she she scanned him. “Visual successfully run through database, you are Superman, of the Justice League, much like Green Lantern Hal. I understand.”

That was two members of the Justice League Aya had run into here, but still no Green Lanterns. How odd, she thought, but there wasn’t much she could do about it. All she could do now is clarify things for Superman.

“Yes, this is the Green Lantern symbol. Green Lantern Hal is not the only Green Lantern, as there is one per sector, and numerous sectors in various universes.”

“I am Aya, the AI of Green Lantern’s ship, the Interceptor. Hence, the symbol. I apologize for any confusión.”

What an odd but adorable piece of machinery. Really, Aya can't help but smile, the strange coloring on its display reminding her of the way Green Lantern Hal's face turned reddish upon the mention of the Star Sapphire, Carol Ferris.

"I am glad to hear that. You must be more careful. It is nice to meet you, I am Aya."

The kind words made Rapunzel’s heart swirl in appreciation; it wasn’t really something she had heard very often. Sincerity always counted, and not when men would just compliment you because they want something from you. This was what warmth and niceness feels; this is what friendships feels. 

“That’s so kind! I wonder if there’s more beings like you, so you wouldn’t feel left out. But really, if you feel like you don’t fit in, you shouldn’t. Because you’d always have friends who appreciate you a lot.” 

“Err—- my mother forbid me to go outside the tower. For years. Eighteen years. I mean—- my whole life, yes. She tells me that the world is full of evil people.” <?small>

Aya too, had a number of warm feelings in regards to this encounter, though she could only compare them to what she felt for Hal and Kilowog. That was friendship. She continued to smile at Rapunzel's kind words, and hoped that she could call her a friend soon.

"There are more machines like me out there, that fact is certain. However they are not all like me in that they cannot understand human emotion as I can. It is alright...for that reason."

"You were in a tower? That is...incomprehensible. I am glad that you are outside of it now, and hopefully you have seen that that is not the case."

It's time to clean up Hive city! [Open]

The ride down is as smooth as a utilibot and he nods his head in thanks as he jumps off Aya’s hand.

For several seconds he is completely still, then he begins. As much as he hates what he’s about to do, his need to make people happy overrides his need to clean.

He dumps out all the pens, money, candy wrappers, etc that he has collected and slowly, methodically shapes them. He has to run to get more supplies (he even uses crumbs he has carefully picked up by hand) several times, but when it finally looks something like letters - though there are letters that look a little rigid and foreign - he stands back, proud, expectantly.

Then he looks back and realises he has missed a letter. He quickly moves, falls to the floor and forms an “O”.

CHIBI ROBO

He hopes she can understand - this is the first time he’s tried anything like this before. The small silver robot looks at Aya’s face and back at the crude letters on the ground, a new emotion rising in him. Is it possible for a robot to feel nervous?

Aya leans her head towards the tiny bot curiously, wondering what he's going to do. When he dumps out a mass amount of garbage from his body, she's rather surprised, letting out the word 'gasp' as she continues to watch him run around, gathering more materials for his little project here. For such a small machine, he was incredibly fast and efficient. She couldn't help but be impressed.

"You are very talented, but I am afraid I do not quite understand what it is you are trying to accomplish."

No response. He was too busy to reply. Aya instead keeps watching, the trash finally forming some semblance of letters, and Aya tilts her head. She smiles brightly when he lays on the ground, finishing off the letters.

"Chibi Robo. I am to assume that is your name, correct?"

—> I am making my way down town, walking fast, faces past, and I’m home bound, as I notice a few stares I get from other people walking. I smile brightly. They must think I am attractive, and that is very flattering. Still, I do not want them to think I am just a face that is  pretty. I suppose it is a gift of burden.

Anyways, I continue to walk until I slip on a banana peel. I fall onto my back, and I am like a turtle. I am unable to get up. I try to spring up, but I can not. I am stuck. Like a distressed damsel, I begin to cry out for help;<——

I am stuck! Someone help me, please!

Aya had been walking through the city for a while now, using her scanners to gather as much information as possible. She wondered if it would be possible for her to gain access to the city's computer systems, as that would help her learn even more, but it seemed as though it wasn't possible at this moment.

She continued to walk down the streets, scanning and scaning, until she hears a tiny voice call out to her. She turns, and cannot find the source until she turns her gaze downward. Another machine. There were so many of them here. She bends down, putting the little machine upright again, and gives it a smile.

"Are you satisfactory now?"

It's time to clean up Hive city! [Open]

For a moment he is confused when Telly doesn’t tell him he has received happy points and he wonders if she’s faking her expression, but the thought quickly passes as she draws him away from the busy - and scary, he imagined Telly would say - streets and he finally gets a better view. His head swivels slowly as he takes in the sights, stumbling a little as he realises just how huge this place is.

He turns back to her as she speaks again, popping the “!” symbol out of his head, though he does wonder why a person would want to be friends with him.

When she frowns he tries to think what he had done to bring sadness to her, but he can’t, so he listens on and tries to think of a way to grant her wish…

Soon he is pointing at the ground, an idea forming. Even if he’s not currently receiving happy points, he wants to make her smile.

She too, is confused, and her processors are working to try and think of a way that the two can communicate. Perhaps she could plug into his systems somehow, but…no, that wouldn’t work. A quick scan confirmed what she already knew to be true – this robot lacked communication systems, so it would be impossible. Suddenly, she sees the little exclamation point appear over his head, then he begins to point at the ground.

“Oh. I understand.”

Aya bends down and places the miniscule bot on the floor again, remaining in a hunched over position as she watches what he is about to do. At the same time, she’s making sure that no one bumps into them, or even comes near stepping on him. Aya would not allow such a thing.

Rapunzel bites her lip; she was starting to become nervous and then shift to awkward and then end up being alone and… a freak. However, the moment the—- um, Aya had smiled, Rapunzel couldn’t help but not to grin in return. It’s that warm feeling of friendship and civility that surface’s the blonde’s optimism. 

“It’s no problem, and you’re really beautiful. I like your eyes.” 

“That’s great! I don’t know where to stop first, you know, if I actually knew where I would take you. Well, this is my first time to… actually see the world. I’m glad to have you as company, Aya.”

Aya was new to dealing with people who were not of the crew, and who were not trying to eliminate her. It was a pleasant feeling, one which she enjoyed greatly and hoped she would encounter more often in her time in the Hive. She too smiled, tilting her head a bit at the compliment.

"Thank you. You and your eyes are aesthetically pleasing as well."

"This is your first time seeing the world? Why is that? Have you been incarcerated or something of the sort?"

As she heard the Aya speak of her inability to locate the planet, perhaps even the universe, Zatanna couldn’t help but feel like a stranded child. She wasn’t helpless without her magic but being in unknown territory meant that there could be larger threats than she could handle. Without magic she could survive in her own world, though the new one she had been taken to was so unfamiliar that she couldn’t assume anything. But for now she had an ally of some sort.

Letting out a sigh, the raven-haired woman shook her head just thinking about the sick scientists. They were more than willing to drag people far from comfort and into a testing ground for their own pleasure, treating sentient beings as lab rats. “I’m not sure if you have anything unusual happening to you but those whack jobs took away my magic.” Zatanna commented while lifting her seemingly useless wand.

“Its more than just an social experiment. They have a limitless power in their hands and if we don’t entertain them… god forbid what happens then.” the woman supposed, her gaze dropping at the last sentence.

Noticing the coincidence in their housing, Zatanna perked up from her last words. “Complex one? What a coincidence.” she said, her right hand touching her lips briefly before stretching outwards to Aya. “I’m in the same complex as you, apartment R. Though I’ve yet to visit it, I’m sure we’ll find our way.” the woman added, her lips curving into a confident smile.

Aya wasn’t sure what type of scientists would do such a cruel thing as snatch people up from their homes and bring them to a strange place without their consent, but she also couldn’t even begin to pretend she understood humans completely. Though she had all reason to be angry that she was here, she couldn’t bring herself to it. At least she was somewhere at all. She had disappeared, eliminated herself, and yet here she was, back in existence again.

This gave her a chance to live her life better this time. To truly become a Green Lantern, and to love Razer, if she ever found a way out of here. She would embrace this new chance with open arms. Although, the Zatanna human did not seem to be pleased with the situation at all.

“Unusual? No, I do not believe I have noticed anything of the sort…scanning for potentially removed features…ah. It would seem as though my abilities have been limited. I can no longer fly. Upsetting.Though you spoke of magic? I was not aware humans were capable of--” Aya’s eyes widened suddenly, turning to Zatanna.

“Background search complete. You are Zatanna Zatara of the Justice League, just like Green Lantern Hal. A homo magi, capable of a number of supernatural magical abilities. I understand now.”

“Indeed, it is truly a coincidence. I suggest that we try and find it now, before nightfall. As our abilities are limited, we know not what we may encounter.” Aya turned and began to walk, a small holographic map of the city appearing over her hand.

“I have managed to download the Hive’s topographical information into my systems. I hope it will prove to be most helpful.”

headcanon: Lantern Corps, Razer (spelling?), happiness, peace, free time

Headcanon: Lantern Corps

The Green Lantern Corps are the closest to her heart for obvious reasons. She wants to be deserving of the title of Green Lantern, though she does already consider herself one since being the AI of the Interceptor, she is part of the crew. Constantly, she is learning from them, on what it means to be a Green Lantern and all the things that come with it. She doesn’t think ill of the other Lantern Corps either, as the Star Sapphires helped her in a moment of need, and the Red Lanterns gave her Razer. She finds it intriguing that they all have powers that stem from a certain emotion, and she hopes to understand them all.

Headcanon: Razer

Aya loves Razer. There’s absolutely no doubt about that anymore. With everything that happened however, she hopes to learn how to better understand her emotions so that she doesn’t overreact to the things he says. Both her and Razer have a hard time understanding their emotions, but they’ll learn from each other, if they have the chance to see each other again. 

Headcanon: Happiness

Happiness is the emotion Aya knows best, as it is what she felt nearly the entire time she was with Hal, Kilowog, and Razer. She thinks it is easily one of the best of human emotions, alongside love, and easily one of the most powerful. She would love to be happy all the time, but knows it isn’t possible. 

Headcanon: Peace

When Aya unleashed the virus that destroyed all versions of her program, causing her to disappear as well, she didn’t fret. Rather, she was at peace, because she knew that this action would erase all forms of her mistake from the universe. No one would have to be in danger because of her anymore, and most importantly, the people she loved the most would be safe.

Headcanon: Free Time

Aya doesn’t really know what to do with free time, so she always tries to find something to keep herself busy with.

Having come to terms with the fact that she was trapped on the foreign world, Zatanna decided it was better to locate her assigned living quarters until she found a way to gain her powers back. It wasn’t the most unfamiliar of feelings being lost and alone. She had dealt with that feeling after her father’s death and even after losing comrades in battle. 

But that was in the past. It was time to think of the present and Zatanna’s future plans in the city. She walked towards the location specified on the board outside of where she awoke, seeking comfort in the unknown world’s offer of a home. She missed Shadowcrest already, her entire library would become dust if she did not return. And in knowing that her will to survive the challenge of this world strengthened.

As the elaborately dressed woman roamed the seemingly peaceful streets, she felt no fear. Despite her magic being limited, Zatanna had skills in combat and could defend herself if needed. Though who she thought to be a possible assailant turned out to be someone as confused as she was.

Hearing the robotic voice from behind her, Zatanna swiftly turned to face them with her hands in tight fists. Upon seeing the individual who’d approached her however, the magician eased the tension in her body and determined the threat minimal since their situation resembled her own. “I gather you’re lost too?”

With a stifled chuckle, the homo magi replied to her acquaintance. “Zatanna Zatara—just stick to Zatanna.” she mentioned to the AI, blue eyes peering at her. “Some asinine scientist brings numerous beings here and doesn’t even tell them what planet they’re on?” the woman huffed in aggravation. “Fine! Might as well just find the living spaces!”

She tilted her head as she noticed the strange woman’s body language. With her hands balled into fists, she seemed to be ready for battle, but Aya was going to do no such thing. She simply wanted assistance, and continued to look at her, unmoving, until she dropped her stance. Finally, she saw her body language relax, and Aya too felt more at ease. She didn’t want to cause a conflict when that was the last thing she was looking for. She smiled a bit and gave the woman a nod.

“Affirmative. I would say I am lost, as I cannot find this place in any of my databases.”

Zatanna Zatara…the name seemed familiar, and Aya ran a search in her databases as she continued to speak with her. Her knowledge  was better when it came to the Lantern Corps, but something about this particular human gave her the feeling that she had information on her.

“I do not know why we have been summoned here by these scientists. Although they did explain their intentions, I still do not understand. But you are right, Zatanna Zatara, we must find our living spaces.”

“My living space has been designated as apartment Z, in complex 001. How about you?”

“Filamen—- Oh, okay. I get it. Unbelievable, but I understand what you’re saying. My hair. Long story, really. Y-You’re… not human, are you? It’s not like it’s a bad thing but that’s really impressive.” 

Rapunzel mumbles; it was her first time to encounter such… creature, or being, to put it more politely, but quickly clears her throat. 

“You’re new to Hive City, aren’t you? I may not be much help, but I’d be glad to roam around with you—- if you’d like to.”

The comment initially rubs Aya the wrong way. No, she was not human, but she also wasn't just a machine. She was a living being, so Hal had told her. Her properties were simply machine-like. When she says it's not a bad thing, Aya decides it's best not to get offended, and offers a smile.

"You are correct. I am not a human, but I am a living being. Thank you."

"I would not mind exploring the city further with your company. In fact, I would rather enjoy it."

It's time to clean up Hive city! [Open]

He turns when he hears a pleasant voice, possibly the first friendly voice he has heard since he arrived, even though he had been listening intermittently to the crowds of people who passed him by.

The last piece of rubbish he had been holding is thrown up into his head as his head spins around to face the girl before him. His eyes zoom in on he, examaning her - the small robot cannot quite identify her, the woman’s colouring throwing him off. His eyes settle on her face and after a few seconds he picks up his plug and walks onto her hand, his eyes narrowing in frustration as he cannot answer her question.

Instead he pulls his plug to the side of his body with a quiet clink as he opens his head once more and shows a “!” symbol, as much of a hello as the little bot can manage, and bends down and pats the palm of her hand.

The AI tilts her head curiously as she watches the little robot discard what she has analyzed to be unwanted organic material into his head. Such a curious function -  one which she has never seen before, and she can’t help but find it adorable. She continues to smile as the little robot walks into her hand, and she stands up again, optics analyzing him more carefully this time.

“Ah, so you are uncapable of speech. I see that that is not in your programming. A shame really, I would have loved to communicate with you. It is of minimal importance, we can still be friends.”

She frowns a bit, wondering who would create a robot without granting it the ability to speak, but she remembers that not everyone treats machines as kindly as the crew of the Interceptor does.

“Though I do wish I could know your name. You must have a name.”
