Opal tensed at her words. She wanted to be able to say she hadn’t use wheat or wheat by-products, but she couldn’t. It wasn’t like she even fed it to anyone else. She always made wheat free food for others, couldn’t put them in danger. But wheat free products aren’t the same. You can only eat so many slices of oat fiber bread before you miss the real stuff.  It was only that one time, too.
She thought about saying no, or at least trying to say no, but she couldn’t. Somehow she could sense that this girl knew, without a doubt, the truth. “Wh-what el-lse??”
Dinah furrowed her brow and tilted her head for a moment before breaking into a smile. This girl - Olive? Oval? Pupil? - didn't protest. She didn't scream or beg or deny, and she didn't even admit it. It was something Dinah never saw before, and she could tell this girl would be a tough nut to crack. She shouldn't have expected any less, considering she was from Night Vale.Â
The girl's hands clasped behind her. "Well, we've also been told about your belief in mountains - whether that be a lie or not we don't really care - and also your recent use of a pen. Silly Opal. Here we have the same laws as you. I haven't used a pen in months". Dinah got down to her level again. "But what really interested me, was what one of your friends told me. She was here earlier and when she spat it out I couldn't help but be intrigued....apparently you've had interaction with certain angels, haven't you? Angels that are being tracked down by the secret police"
