This is one of my favourite ideas of all time. The world needs more of this.
I was just reminded of this enviable project. Chris Milkâs work had a considerable influence on my thinking about âshareableâ content. The quality of participation in The Johnny Cash Project and the ease of participation in The Wilderness Downtown demonstrated two different ways to engage an audience. Technology and ânever been done beforeâ will never trump connection and emotional investment, but tech + feels is a magical combination.Â
This incredibly simple time management system changed my workday.
Iâve experimented with the Pomodoro technique in the past. Itâs great for freelancing or doing anything productive from a home office, itâs a lot trickier to implement in an open-plan agency environment - unless you can magically block distractions & interruptions.Â
Lena Dunham hosts Women Of The Hour, the newest podcast from BuzzFeed, and it features conversations with these incredible people and many more.
I think weâre all a little (or a lot) over Buzzfeedâs clickbait listicles, but this podcast theyâve developed with Lena Dunham is top shelf. (I can say that one episode in - I know Iâm going to love it hard.) It feels incredibly intimate and engaging, canât wait for ep 2!
The Art of Asking: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Let People Help - Kindle edition by Amanda Palmer, BrenĂŠ Brown. Download it once and read it on your Kindle device, PC, phones or tablets. Use features like bookmarks, note taking and highlighting while reading The Art of Asking: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Let People Help.
I feel a little late to this party, but Amanda Palmer was as raw and open and generous as any writer could wish to be. Colour me inspired.Â
You had me at âcatsâ. Thank you adam&eveDDB!

Who stole my bliss? Was it Joseph Campbell? Did he take it to the grave with him? Iâd better read âThe Power of Mythâ to find out.
Whatâs your communication style? You have a particular style of communicating, of course, but do you know what it is, including its strengths and weaknesses, and how it compares to the styles of others? Over the past two decades of research, my team and I have found that there are [...]
I love digging in to a bit of communication theory, I always get some insight out of it. According to the quiz Iâm an âintuitiveâ communicator, but reading through all the profiles I could relate to something in all of them. For example, Iâm not a âfeelingsâ kinda person in the workplace, but I do invest time in building relationships and understanding how team members are feeling. So I wonder, are communication styles more sensitive to the precise context of each piece of communication? Is it useful to label people a âtypeâ? Or could it be more valuable to teach multiple styles to everyone? I imagine we each have a ânaturalâ style, but also have the capacity to develop other styles that adapt to a variety of situations and participants. A âresponsiveâ style of communicator would most likely be more effective across the board, so letâs all aim for that. Am I right?Â
I just watched Glass a portrait of Philip in twelve parts, which was pretty damn inspiring. I have such respect for him, (with a hint of jealousy). He says some pretty insightful things, Iâll probably find more good stuff in his memoir.Â
THE GAP by Ira Glass
I know âThe Gapâ, when I was a devout perfectionist it pushed all my buttons. I didnât quit.
I have a soft spot for using small space ads in an engaging way. See the credits here:Â http://www.bestadsontv.com/ad/73847/SAFE-Homesick-puppy
âPerfectionism is the voice of the oppressor, the enemy of the people. It will keep you cramped and insane your whole life.â
Iâm a recovering perfectionist, so I need these little reminders.
