Sera’s reaction to seeing Orion alive was about what anyone would expect. She dropped her hand canon into its holster and threw her arms around her friend—essentially ignoring their Commander. Zavala allowed this due to the circumstances. The tears falling down the guardian’s cheeks before him was tell enough that they needed this moment.

“Sera—Sera I cant feel Ryo anymore.” He sobbed quietly into her ear. “I can’t find record of the shuttle with my kids. Sera what if somethings happened to them? What am I gonna do?”

“Hey, hey big man, everything’s gonna be okay.” She hugged him all the tighter a moment. “I already set someone on looking up the shuttle at the farm. Ryo’s likely off with Cayde, wherever they went. It’s gonna be okay.”

They pulled back, still with their arms around each other and Orion knew she was right. And her light! It was brighter than ever to him, although perhaps it was due to him not currently having his own. They wiped their eyes and turned back to Zavala, who was patiently giving them their moment.

“Fireteam RioRa reporting for duty Sir.” They said together.

Missing their Ryo to their RyoRioRa they were for the moment but that wouldn’t last. Everyone there knew it.

Watching the city’s burning light grow further away she knew; they’d really lost. Lost. Still, she turned to the pilot of her vessel and pleadingly with tears streaming down her face;

“Go back! Cayde! Go back!”

“No can do Ryo, it’s a lost cause for now.”

“The kids are still there somewhere! We have to go back!” Her voice was desperate, terrified, and a bit broken; losing the light had knocked the wind out of her.

“Orion got them on a shuttle, they’re a lot safer wherever they are than we are right now.” Serenity nudged her guardian.

Another wave of heavy tears hit the awoken. Her connection to her twin was—she couldn’t feel it—

“Orion—CAYDE WE HAVE TO GO BACK FOR ORION!” Auryon was almost hyperventilating now.

Since they’d been revived their connection to each other was so strong that they knew when one died and when they revived. Not feeling them was reason for true panic.

“We can’t go back right now Ryo, we’ll die. We need to come up with a plan first.” Cayde responded. He could hear her grief stricken quiet sobs from behind him but he was a bit to busy with piloting to deal with that at the moment.

Auryon turned back to the small porthole and saw now that the city was just a blip in the distance now. It was over. Orion and the kids were gone. Sera was likely gone too, she had just arrived with the attack. It was a few minutes before she clenched her fists as they broke orbit. The fury in her was strong at the losses of her family. She would make every single Cabal pay for this. They would suffer the wrath of the former arkstrider.

A Quick Rundown Of The Red War For My Fireteam (Main Verse)

* Serafino is The Guardian™️

* None of them were together when it started

* Orion was with his kids near the plaza, and sent them off on a shuttle with a friend of the family (Penelope), then rallied with Zavala

* Auryon was dicking around with Cayde in the War Room, and ended up following him around after the light got shut off

* Serafino was returning from exploring

* After getting kicked off Ghaul’s ship, Sera made it to the farm and helped out in the EDZ after gaining her light back.

* Then she went to Titan.

* Orion had managed to slay many hive, but had been unable to turn the tide without his light. Zavala had near given up but then Sera arrived and changed things.

* After finishing on Titan, Sera took Orion to the shard and instead of gaining another ability, Orion got his Void abilities back

* Before going to Nessus, they stopped back at the farm and Orion was reunited with his children, and promised to bring their aunt back to them

* Meanwhile Auryon got separated from Cayde when he got stuck in the loop. She couldn’t fight all the vex without her light and was injured severely. Serenity couldn’t heal her faster than she was dying

* Thankfully Sera and Orion arrived with a healing rift just in time

* The Warlock and Titan rescued the hunters and took Auryon to get her light back as well

* A Dawnblade, a Sentinel, and an Arkstrider walked into a bar

* Did I say Bar? I meant war

* The three of them crushed Ghaul and got the light back for everyone

* Then they walked into a bar

1 They really bonded after the events of Taken King

2 Sera slapped him when they met back up on Nessus first before hugging him. She said something like “You reckless fool” and he just chuckled and gave her a proper hug.

3 They spent a lot of time at the docks of the Farm talking about anything and everything. Sera would fall asleep on his shoulder sometimes.

4 Gilbert and Sundance took bets between them on who would make the first move. Surprisingly (or maybe not) Sera asked Cayde out to ramen one night. Surprisingly (or maybe not) he was down.

5 Sera has a very strict no chicken diet now, in honor of Colonel. Eggs are acceptable in foods but not as a food itself.

6 Cayde purposed 2 weeks after they defeated Ghaul with a hunter cloak just for her. It matches his. When you know, you know.

7 Their friends hardly had time to get them anything because they got married the following week. Auryon’s always making jokes about her best friend’s getting married super fast.

8 They adopted a puppy and named her Diamond, and got a fish named Clover

9 Orion’s kids were fucking exCITED to call Cayde Uncle 6.

10 Sera had quite the goodbye monologue for him, but a short snip of it is “The one time we let you out the tower and you had to go play a hero. That’s my job you reckless fool.”

11 In the viewing room Zavala came to say his goodbyes while she was in there and she got a hug off the Titan because “Commander I could really use a hug. You look like you could use one too.”

Sera didn’t pull the trigger. She held the gun. She thought about it. She put it down. Cayde wouldn’t want that for her. Auryon yanked Ace from her hand and did it herself.
